Separating the Wheat from the Chafe

Hello Arc Authors,

After taking a much needed break from the game, I am back to play some AE Arcs. One of the reason I left was the lack of new and engaging "Dev" created stories. My plan is to experience the new guest author arcs and the new Dev choice arcs. In addition I would like to play some arcs created by people who are proud enough about them to promote themselves.

So if you want me to play your arc post here with the arc ID number and the type of story it is. I will be using a Warshade, Peacebringer, Crab, Widow, and Corrupter during these play sessions. I like Sci Fi, Horror, Niour, Magic, and Tech themed stories the most. I like both humorous and serious stories. I am really interested in some good villain arcs and some arcs for my fey themed corrupter.

I do not want to fight AVs that scale to EBs. I will fight EBs that scale to Boss. I am not too fond of the exp stealing of npc allies. I am fine with the reduced reward of custom critters provided that they are not grossly overpowered. I want to experience the story not have a "Scrapper Challenge".

If you want me to rate it, let me know. I plan not to rate any arcs unless asked to do so. If asked to rate such arcs I will do so fairly and in the spirit that this is a game not some literary novel. I am not some arc critic sitting on my golden throne getting my jollies from beating your work into submission. I will even give you some constructive feedback.

Post away

Did somebody say Wheat?

I've got one Dev Choice, and I also have a more serious/horror-ish story (Matchstick Women #3369) as well as a fun mini-game (Whack a Mole #2711) - and I like getting rates as well as in-game feedback.

Maybe it's just me, but I always find the act of jolly-getting to make any sentence sound more rude than it should be.

On topic though, I've got Mercytown #6017 that is a villainous arc for the lvl 1-10s, and I've got a dev choice A Penny For Your Thoughts #348691 that is heroic for lvl 20s. Ratings and comments are always welcome.

Any of the ones in my sig should work fine. None have AVs, a few have allies, but I am careful to balance them. They range from 1 mission to 5 so whatever time you have you should be able to fit them in. As for rating them in game, that would be fine.

Each of my four arcs has something that disqualifies it based on your criteria, except for...

TOO MANY BUNNYGIRLS!
Arc ID#: 101165
Length: Medium
Morality: Neutral (leans heroic)
Enemy Groups: custom
Description: "You can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting another stupid bunnygirl mission. Ugh. Someone should do something about them, once and for all. Someone like you. (story, humor, rabbit puns; best for higher levels but not too hard; 5 Bosses, no EBs or AVs)"

Fight bunnygirls and try to stop a super-celebrity tabloid from publishing embarrassing pictures of yourself! I made this one based off some silly discussion with my girlfriend, and it probably shows. Funnily enough, the plot is pretty tight regardless... not sure how that happened!

I think it's currently at 4 stars with about 125 plays, give or take ten. It was my first mission and went through a lot of refining. It's pretty basically a "go in and beat up badguys" kind of story with puns.

If you do play, I always like feedback and ratings.

Depends what you're looking for. Chaff, or laughs. It could just as easily be: 'separating the wit from the chafe'.

Circuit Breaker

rate, please, and give as much criticism as you can muster. I want this thing as good as it can be before entertaining thoughts of a sequel.

When an unknown computer genius hacks past longbow's best digital defenses, Agent Drive contacts you to uncover a plot that threatens to engulf the planet. but who is the elusive Fathom, and to what lengths will he go to ensure that his plan succeeds?

I finally got some time to run some arcs today. I decided to run the Dev Choice and Guest Author ones last. The first 2 I ran was Bubbawheat's Wackamole and Matchstick Women.

Wackamole - This was an interesting little diversion, I thought it was fun, and 5 Minutes a mission was just right after I figured out how they were spawning.

Matchstick Women - This is why I decided to run some AE arcs. I liked the story alot. The only real complaint I have is that 2nd to the last mission and the largish map that is used. That is just a minor thing though. All in all I enjoyed reading all the clues.

Aha, this is where I saw that name before. I was surprised when I got a comment on Whack a Mole. Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed them.
