See, to me, QR does NOT mean "Quick Reply". Instead, it means, "Quote Removed". From waaay back in the day...

Aye, I remember that. That's a lesson that the internet never learned. Hence we have things like MySapce, Twitter, FaceBook, etc.

Actually, a lot of people used "QR" to mean quick reply, as the old boards would make a QR a reply to the last poster at the time of the person using the QR - which caused issues of "I DIDN"T SAY THAT" etc.

I thought that was the Pinnacle abbreviation.

Some I didn't see
OP: Original Poster

although the wiki link has many of the in game acronyms, reposted here
LGTF: Lady Grey Task Force (the one in RWZ)
STF: Statesman's Task Force
MoSTF: Master of Statesman's Task Force (In face Mo before any TF means Master of)
(Mo)ITF: Imperious Task Force (The one in Cimerora)
(Mo)LRSF: Lord Recluse's Strike Force
(Mo)Kahn: The 5th Column TF (although this one isn't standard yet)

I think some of the most confusing abbreviations are what we use are for powers sets and powers (some examples, by no means an exhaustive list):
ele: electric
nrg: energy
neg: negative energy (the damage type)
em: energy melee
dm: dark melee
db: dual blades
inv: invulnerability
sd: shield defense
wp: willpower
ill: illusion control
ss: check context, if a melee character super strength, if a defender storm summoning, if a travel power super speed

Any Powers that are multiple words are usually abbreviated:
Att: Assemble the Team (a vet reward)
RotP: Rise of the Phoenix
RttC: Rise To the Challenge

When talking about a specific Powerset, the powers are all abbreviated by their letters. So if talking about storm summoning, then SS might mean Snow Storm instead.
some other examples:
DA: Divine Avalanche
TF: Total Focus
ET: Energy Transfer
SB: speed boost
PA: phantom Army

It is, but most of us Pinn'ers turn in to blasters of a sort after enough beers.

Actually, I believe this comes from that grandaddy of all MMOs, EverQuest, back in the day when almost all the major raid bosses were Dragons. Guilds (analogous to SGs) kept track of who participated in raids by issuing DKPs (Dragon Kill Points) to each member who was in on the kill of the dragons. The number of points varied by difficulty of the dragon or the difficulty of the raid (since some dragons were not as hard as just getting TO the dragon). Guild members could then use these DKPs to bid on drops at raids or to have a raid scheduled just for them (for example, to obtain an item needed for their epic weapon quest). And to think this was all done long before Ventrilo or Teamspeak...
