Now that I have your attention....

Time for me to speak my peace about the Veteran Badge issue.....While this is said to be a known issue it is not listed on the known issues page as of 1/6/2010. So please either fix the issue or add it to the list of issues. I was told by a reliable source that the issue with the Vet Badges not awarding properly has been going on for the better part of year.

Granted I am only whining about the 15 month vet badge and soon to be 18 month badge. There are those among us that have fought this same battle in vain and those folks have been playing this MMO longer than I have. Honestly, I find it is pointless to keep going with the Vet badges if they are not going to be awarded properly. After all it is not that difficult to see how long a player has been playing and whether or not they stopped their subscription for a time.

I understand that those in charge of things like badges are busy putting the finishing touches on Going Rogue and dealing with whatever else. The one thing I take issue with is the fact that this has been an ongoing problem for some time and should have been addressed a while ago.

Yes please do something about this. I'm waiting on my kilts n' stuff to make my new brute.....getting antsy about it. Didin't know it was an actual issue though, I though it was just my account lol.

Unfortunately, this thread is not something any of the devs are likely to stumble over on their own. If you want to be sure that the right people see it, you should bring this issue to the attention of Arbiter Kim, who is the red name in charge of bug hunting. The best way would be to either PM him an explanation of the bug, or point him towards this thread.

I dont know it's much of a 'Known Issue' in that it is not a 'Standard' to my knowledge. It happens, but I have yet to experience it or know of one who has. This makes me wonder how much of an issue it truly is. I mean that everyone I personally know has not yet had a problem being awarded a Vet Badge/Reward at the appropriate time, and further deponent saith not.

Just do a /petition in game (or go to ncsoft's site and do an email on their site/fill out their 'questionnaire')...I had an issue with it last month and got it resolved within 1-2 days.

It's happened to me for the last two Vet badges.

However, it was quickly corrected both times by submitting a petition to customer service.

I think that my issues might stem from the fact that I've purchased every single version of the game and applied them all to the same account... since I didn't pay via credit card due to the included time, at first glance it looks like I didn't pay for a month here and there.

One of my characters was granted all the Veteran badges up to month 48. ( I was actually a month short of 36 at the time.) My account as a whole was granted the free character slots from month 36 and 48 that came along with this as well. This was the ONLY character affected.

Per the GMOTD at the time, I sent my petition with as much info as possible, and agreed not to use the character at all until the issue was resolved.

Within an hour, I get response from a GM, stating they are escalating my petition to a Senior Customer Support Representative.

The next day, I get response from a GM, thanking me for my patience and stated:
"Our Development Team is still trying to determine what caused this to happen and we will update you as soon as we have new information."

A few days go by. I update my petition, asking the status, and asking if they have copied necessary information and if it's OK to use the toon again.

The next day, the same GM as before says:
"I wanted to update and assure you that our Development Team is continuing to investigate the cause of this issue. Once we have additional news, we will be sure to let you know."

Almost a week goes by, the same GM again:

That was my last contact. Nothing was ever "corrected automatically", and the bug itself was never corrected. To date, that character STILL has the 48 month badge, and I have since earned up to 42 months on the rest of my account in the meantime. No, I did not re-earn another character slot when I hit 36, and I do not expect to earn another at 48 either.
