The Twilight Avengers Villain Hamidon Raid Strategy

Yah, I'm sorry there's a conflict, but as Lemur pointed out, this raid has been planned and announced for a little bit longer than the Pinnacle Cup.

That said, if the attendance is as good as it was at the last one of these we sponsored, we'll likely do another in a month or so. So those who miss out on the Hami raid because they're PvPing will get another chance, if they choose.

Good luck in the Cup.

I'm gonna go ahead and support the PvPers on this now since my graphics card(s) has/have apparently decided that I am unworthy to take part in this raid, so I now no longer care whether or not it happens.

I must have slotted Touch of Death in my hands before putting this computer together. (Of course, the original build was put together shortly before I5, long before IOs, but details, details...)

Fun raid, given the circumstances I was working under. Will definitely make a point of attending the next raid if my schedule allows it, hopefully this time with a full view of my screen!

Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a longish spawn time, but then were able to get through with relatively few problems and complete it in 52 minutes.

Gratz to those who had not previously raided the Hamidon. Also, we unfortunately had some folks who dc'd during the raid and were not able to get back in because the zone was full. This is an unfortunate side effect of having a full zone worth of toons all in a very tight space, all using their powers at the same time. Part of it is the equipment each individual works with, and part of it is a lack of server stability (which only the devs can improve). Hopefully, if you were one of these, you will give it another try when we next raid (if your equipment can handle it).

And yes, the Twilight Avengers will be running another of these in the near future. I'll post the date here when it is official. Hope to see you there!

Just wanted to say thanks back for this raid. Very well run sir. My team was wonderful and special kudos to our team leader Dark catfight who was perfect for the job. I'll be there early in the future cause I have a feeling the teams and zone will fill quickly!

The Twilight Avengers had planned to announce the next redside Hamidon raid following the release of i17. Unfortunately, along with i17 has come a bug that currently prevents a successful Hamidon raid.

The green mitos have a bug (which also shows up in the LGTF version of the mito) that makes them virtually impossible to take down. They are either impossible to hold (despite having the same numbers for protection and resistance as in previous issues) or continue to have 90% resistance to everything and an incredibly high regen rate even after they are held.

Our guild has bugged this en masse, and I'm hoping that everyone else will do so as well--whether you encounter it in the Hive/Abyss or in the LGTF. I'll post when there is a resolution, but until then, there will be no raids.

Devs, a little help please...

Per Castle, only the mission version of the green mitos are bugged, not the zone version. So perhaps the raid is worth a shot?

Wulf's post suggests that they encountered it personally, though he doesn't specifically say either way so it's hard to tell.

Yes, we encountered the problem during our regular guild Hami raids. And yes, it is screwed up there, just like in the mission version. The "bug" that Castle found was in the hold protection, which is listed incorrectly in the LGTF version. But there is another bug which is causing the green mito's regenerative aura not to drop when it's held. Castle is supposedly fixing the problem the beginning of next week. I'll let you know once we've verified it.

I see no reason not to (tentatively) schedule the next raid in anticipation of the fix going live (I assume you're going to schedule a bit in advance anyway, should be enough time to determine if the fix actually works).

Yes, the problem has been fixed. And yes, the Twilight Avengers are planning another sponsored raid. At the moment, the date is not set in stone. I'm on the road a lot for work atm, and I don't want to conflict with other server events (such as the Pinnacle Cup).

As such, I'm tentatively aiming for Thursday, June 17th, at 9:30 p.m. for the next redside raid. I will let you know when we have set the date in stone, but go ahead and mark your calendars...in pencil.

Barring any unexpected changes to my work schedule, I'm always home by 5 on Thursdays, and NBC's Thursday shows are airing their finales tomorrow night, so this'll be perfect for me.

Well, for whatever reason, I guess tonight wasn't a good night for folks to raid. We had fewer than 30 people in the zone at raid time, waited an additional 15 minutes, and still only had 32. And while our guild can raid with significantly fewer than that, this strategy calls for 38 or so. As such, the raid was postponed until a later date. I'll post that date within the next week or so.

My apoligies to those who showed up and were ready to raid, only to have the raid postponed. I've rarely had to do that, and never before on a redside public raid. As such, I trust it will not be necessary next time. The decision to postpone, of course, had nothing to do with you or your ability to follow instructions, but rather was based on sheer numbers, and I hope you will join us for the next one.

Is there still interest in public redisde Hami raiding on this server? Our guild has sponsored a few of these now, and the first two were very well attended and went quite smoothly. The last one, of course, had to be postponed because there weren't enough people on to run this strategy.

Our guild is glad to run these if there is still interest out there. However, we quite frankly don't want to go to the trouble of setting it up only to have a handful of people show up. We raid on our own as a VG, so it's not a big deal to us one way or another, but we'll schedule another raid if there are enough folks who want to participate.

So, what say you, Pinnacle...redside public Hami raid or no?
