Argh! File format help?
Go download yourself Irfanview post haste. It's a much better image viewer than Paint. I'm not sure of the multiple .tif formats, but I'd give Irfanview a try to save it.
Huron: "...with Coffee primary / Attitude secondary"
Charnage: "Please. Think of the poor defenseless desks."
"The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. It failed... In the year of the Praetorian War, it became something greater... our last, best hope for victory."
there are alot of tiff options, one of the more compicated file formats. you can email it to me if you would like and I will convert it in photoshop.
All done
Ok, I am now convinced there is some kind of voodoo curse on this pic...
Thanks Eddy for changing it to jpeg, I appreciate it!
But... errr... Paint.net won't let me resize and save the jpeg either, nor Paint. I uploaded the full sized jpeg to photobucket and it doesn't work there either, to share image or to resize it there...
Ah well, I am giving up for now...
Ok, didn't quite give up... Did manage to resize on photobucket after all!
ahuh! rookie mistake on my part. it was saved as CMYK (print color profile) and I forgot to convert it to RGB. will send a web suitable file through.

Thanks again, Eddy... You're my hero!

Actually RGB and CMYK are the color management profiles. RGB is typically used for digital media i.e. internet, photoshop etc. CMYK is generally for printed media. So when a graphic designer creates something it's usually in RGB then converts it to CMYK for the printers.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 99% sure that's how it works. Though you CAN designed using CMYK, I'm not sure the advantages of one over the other.

I haven't met an image filetype that IrfanView won't let me view, even if I (rarely) have to download an additional plugin to do so.
It's free, and ~1.4mb. Worth the risk!

RGB and CMYK handle black and white (and therefore the areas in between) differently. CMYK is talking about levels of ink, while RGB is talking about levels of brightness... like for your computer screen! So if you're doing work that is primarily for web viewing, RGB is where ya wanna be. If you know you're going to print it, you don't necessarily have to work in CMYK the entire time, but you really must convert it before you're done, so YOU can see the color shifts and correct them accordingly if need be.
Ah, but viewing wasn't my issue - Resizing and saving as a different file type was. Can it do that? (I had no problem just viewing stuff...)

It's also more efficient than Photoshop in its compression for some reason. (At least that's been my experience).
99% of the time digital artists work in RGB(Red, Green, Blue, like the colors in your TV), and the few that work in CMYK(Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key(Black), like your printer cartridge) do exports in RGB because that's what its going to be looked at with. If you ever open a file that seems mostly black with lots of yellow and purple? CMYK Traditional graphics arts/media artists use CMYK because that's how the print houses need them.

Ok, this is weird...

Latest art came in TIFF format... Not the first I got in this format but this time when I try to save it in a different format (jpeg) I can't.
I know I have done it before with the other art that came in that format but now when I try with either Paint or Paint.net I end up getting an error message saying it was interrupted while saving or that there was an unspecified error...
Anyone know why this particular TIFF may be so stubborn? Or better yet, a solution??
And to complicate things more, Paint will still save as a jpeg the other TIFF's I've gotten...??? Are there different types of TIFF? Would it matter that this latest one came from some foriegn computer? (European I think)??
