When do I earn my tophat and monocle?

Are they reserved for the 2 billion mark? Is 1 billion the cup of tea mark? I'm approaching the latter and need to know the proper etiquette.

I should add, some people don't include the top hat, monocle, and teabag in their photo. But these people are severely frowned upon. Severely.

You don't want a bunch of rich people in top hats and monocles all frowning down upon you in unison do you?

I am lost here. Top hat and monocle? Are these different than the ones on character screen. My character "The Marketmaker" has his pinstripe suit, monocle and top hat, from level 1, and was made with trial account.

I believe they're the same ones. They're not talking about a costume literally unlocked by reaching a certain influence milestone. It's a tradition here in the market forums to take a picture of your character with the influence visible when you hit 1 or 2 billion, and if the character didn't already have them, it's traditional to give them a top hat and monocle for the picture, and to take it while using the /em teabag emote.

Congrats. Perfect screenshot. You were even smart enough to minimize your chat window and close your Market window so as not to expose your niches. (No exposed niches in a game rated T for Teen. ) You may put Ebil Marketeer on your business cards. Now the only people who will look down on you are those who have hit the Inf cap of 2 billion. Of course we tend to look down on everyone, including each other, just because we're THAT rich.
