Do Fearsome Stare and Terrify work on robots?

or are robots immune to those powers?

Robots resist Psy damage heavily, but this does not translate to immunity to status effects. Fear works on robots. As far as I know the only group that heavily resists Fear is Nemesis.

It is *entirely* too late for you guys to go around answering random questions like 'do robots get scared', 'do robots sleep' and 'would you put your brain in a robot body'. Seriously, push away the keyboard and get some sleep ya robots

But do they dream of electric sheep?

Depends. Nemesis' Jaegers dream of steam-powered sheep, and Anti-Matter's robots dream of atomic-powered sheep. Most of the others do dream of electric sheep, although the Council's tend to dream of electric Mussolinis.

Quite a number of bots do have fear protection. It's unlikely it's consistent across the board. I'm fairly certain it is omitted when the Elite Boss or AV template is applied (they have some built in, but not as much as standard bot enemies).

Condensed reply: Most robotic units have high levels of protection to the fear effect of both powers, but all the other power components affect them normally. Fearsome Stare's -tohit component is still very effective, and Terrify's psionic damage still hurts them, though most robots also have fairly high psionic resistances.

Hmm, didn't know about the MekMen. I mentioned the Nems having fear protect already, I think, but it's good to see the numbers. It does seem inconsistent across the board, with not every 'robotic' enemy having the equivalent protection.

It's also a good point that the other effects of the powers still work, so they're not a waste even on these enemies. I should probably also point out that the Clockwork are not considered true robots and are very much susceptible to fear and sleep powers.
