Signed they should just put a glowie in the reactor that you can click to spawn the mobs instantly. This thing is far to slow pace.
I really wish they never nerfed it in the first place.When it first came out it was HARD!! and we loved it.
I would vote to ether have it returned to the original difficulty or add a new "Epic" respiec trial that runs at the pace it did at launch.
Yeah, the original version was harder. The argument is that people do respec because they are gimped. The respec shouldn't make gimped toons fail.
Currently, the mobs are spawned at certain fixed time intervals. I think if new tech can be implemented to measure the killing rate of players, then the spawn rate can be automatically adjusted on the fly. If players can kill very fast, then mobs can spawn continuously.
The solution to the spawn timer is simple:
The first spawn happens when you open the door, same as it does now. Instead of the second and subsequent being triggered by a timer (current method), the second is spawned when the first is defeated, the third is spawned when the second is defeated, and so on. This way, gimpy teams that fail because they get swarmed, don't see the next spawn before they're ready, and good teams that wipe everything then wait 5 minutes, have the next wave ready for them right away.
As to the difficulty setting, I assume that once they figure out how to adjust it so it plays nicely with the problem TFs, it will be reactivated for ALL TFs, including Trials.

I think the spawn needs to be on some sort of timer though. I believe the design is that the next spawn should somehow overlap with the current spawn, such that the team can be overwhelmed in some way. If the next spawn comes only when the current one is completely done, then the team will never be overwhelmed.
Or just lower the timer, 30 mins is far too long to kill +0 and -1s. You'd have to be REALLY gimpy to not be able to defeat -1. I'd suggest at least lowering it to 20 minutes.

The pace and difficult that they at are currently sub par. I would like to have their difficulty addressed by allowing them to be effected by the difficulty slider, and have the time at which the enemies decreased or have the ability to have all the waves come at once.

Or has it always been disabled for respecs? I thought I remembered something (perhaps an urban rumor) where you were supposed to be "careful" that the team leader of a Respec needed to have his/her difficulty set to "heroic"?
And I'm with some of the others who think the current respec is basically fine as is. And, yes, there are still "gimpy" characters who need it to be not uber difficult in order to get thru it - we (most players of City) aren't all denizens of the boards with Mids loaded up to prevent "horrendous" mistakes.

The respec used to be more difficult because the mobs were spawned 2 levels higher than the highest level player in the team. At that time, we didn't have the super sidekick system. For players who were only one or two level below the rest of the team, they couldn't be sk-ed. Players ended up fighting +3, +4 or even higher than their own level.
With the super-sk system, players are fighting mobs at their level. I think the respec trial can be made slightly more fast-paced. It's ok now, just that it doesn't really look like a trial.

The "We" were the lines of people I waited with who loved the challenge of the trial. Not everybody enjoyed it at that level, but I know many who did love it.
There are still a few who try reselling inspirations at the door now and then. It usually ends up being easier just to have a friend stand watch at the door and supply your team..plus the new combining system makes needing outside inspirations old news.
