Good Psy/Em?

Wondering if this would be a good build for pvp. Loosely based on TDig's power selection/what it seems like every viable psy/em power selection looks like, but slotted for personal preference. Is there a reason the Miracle + Recovery only applies when Hoarfrost is on (the power its slotted in)? Is it a Mids bug or will I only get the recovery bonus while the effect of Hoarfrost are active-do I need to slot it in an auto power to always get the effect?

Anyways I built for max recovery within a budget, but on the 4 main attacks I also have an alternate slotting and im wondering which would be better, slotting for the current one or the alternate slotting (basically whether I will really need the extra max end from the decimations or should I go for the 4 devastations.) this guy seems like a major endx hore so im thinking that the more recov/endx I have the better.

Nope HORRIBLE!!! absolutely in every way Horrible..every1 knows the fitness pool is stoopid u need FLY, TP,Medicine(aid other, stimulant,and the revive), than Presence( provoke)...than u get fire shield from the fire epic...DUH!!! every1 know this, this is like first grade stuff....also for set bonuses build global immob resist..

You should probably find a way to get some more recharge into that build, and get 6 slots of Kinetic Crash into Power Thrust - it's a handy tool that's not slotted very well in that build.

Yeah Ive been seeing that on a good number of builds but I dont really see it justifying 5 slots. I have enough kb protection, so would it just be for the 7.5% recharge bonus, because I dont know if pulling 5 slots from elsewhere in my build would be better spent just trying to get that recharge bonus, and how useful would the power itself really be?

How about the Miracle set bonus, its just a MIDs bug that its not active unless I have hoarfrost on right? Basically it should always be on wherever I slot it, correct? And do you guys think i should stick with the 4 Decimations + 2 Thunderstrikes, or go with the alternate builds on the 4 main chain attacks and use the 4 Devastations + 2 Thunderstrikes?

Edit: And I realized absolute amazements were more expensive than I thought they were so I subbed in 2 stupefys for them, just lowers recovery bonus by a little bit, slotting itself is actually better for TF.

calling out a troll is also trolling if you dont add anything else.


OP: dont focus so much on recovery, if you build for +damage and make sure to slot actual powers for end reduction you should be just fine, especially with conserve power and a miracle/numina. all psi/ems are built the same because it works, no need to reinvent the wheel.

I have to say, if anything that build is unique.

To answer your question, slotting miracle +rec in hoarfrost is a waste. It only works after you use the power its slotted in for 120 seconds. Since mids is saying you have hoar on a recharge of about 190 seconds you'll have a down time of about 70 seconds, and thats only if you use it every time its up and not when you actually need it. Slot it in heal since its a auto power making the proc perma.

Alright dang it, that wasnt intentional at all. i guess that means the same applies for the kismet + acc I have in cj? So, Solo-One, your saying I dont need all that endurance / I should go for the + damage in the devastations rather than stick with the decimations?

And Im not running conserve power, do I need to?

Edit: Alright does this work better? And I just realized alternate slots dont get saved when exported, sorry about that, but heres with the alternate slotting on the 4 main attacks.

Also I got a free slot that I dont know what to do with seeing as the Kismet +ToHit wont be perma in Cj like I thought it would, what should I do with this extra slot?

Since it looks like your going for a cheaper build I reworked yours with that in mind. I put ranged common's in most of your psi blasts since range damage procs are rather costly. If possible I would slot those up with damage procs now or in the future, or even hold (personally I skip hold procs in psi blast but it would be a decent filler until you can get some damage procs in there). I'd keep kismit in cj for arena matches.

Ok Ill keep the Kismet in there then.

Did I have any damage procs in my 4 psy blasts? The thunderstrikes I had in their were defintly in my price range. I have around 1 bil to blow on this build, by "within a budget" I just meant that I cant start throwing purple sets in there willy nilly. The 1 mil I might spend per proc in the sniper slotting or psy blasts slotting is nothing compared to the 70 mil a piece im gonna have to spend on each KB Reduction IO.

Edit: Yeah I dont get it your taking out things that are virtual pennis to me, like the thunderstrike ios and sniper sets that cost around 5 mil at the most, and ur filling up frozen armor with 3 extra lotgs whichll easily cost me over 100 mil.

Because they just arent needed. If you want to slot the extra thunderstrikes go for it, but personally I'd rather have the range. The best route IMO would be to replace the thunder strike and ranged common with 2 glad jav's, one being a proc. You'll get a good damage proc and some extra range from the pvp set bonus. But that will cost you a lot on inf. The purp ranged proc costs about 150mil and the pvp damage procs go for about 500mil a pop on a good day.

Replacing all of those thunderstrikes would mean losing a good deal of recovery, thats the only reaosn I had the 3 thunderstrikes in each attack. Do psy/em's usually have plenty of endx once they get stamina and are at lvl 50?

Would the extra 20 ft of range justify 10% recovery? And If I was going to go the +range route shouldnt I just take out the random single thunderstrike completely and put two Hami +Dam +Range in each attack, and then reslot the devastations to balance the slotting out.

Here's my build. I went all out. You can replace the PvP IOs with the same slotting that's on Psionic Dart, and the apocalypse's in Will Dom can be also converted to Devastations as well, if you're eyeing for a cheaper build.

here is a build, may be a bit cheaper than some, uses only one purple set, mostly how I have mine slotted, not exactly but close. the Expensive things are of course the LoTG's and the Miracle and Numina procs. I prefer +dmg bonuses and this one is +39% so add 10.5% more with assault activated and you are at 49.5%. but take parts of each and make the one you want.

thanks for the build. I heard damage gets DR'ed hard like anything though in PvP, there was a whole thread about whether assault was even worth taking as a power, i dont know if set bonuses are any different though, anyone know more about this?

like I said, use any parts of it you would like, I know that my blaster does fairly well in RV and in arena matches.

Yea I appreciate you posting. Im not criticizing your build its more just than im interested in it, because depending on the DR for damage that extra 50% seems like it could certainly own in pvp, but thanks again.

What is your moment speed like on this build. With the travels slotted how you have them. Do you find your self grounded alot, and hows your stamina?

dont have a stamina problem unless I get heat exhausted of course, and always a web target so grounded pretty often.

It's really hard to be bad on psi/em unless your barrier...and then again he's "special". The delayed dmg is beastly on psi, alot people say that the placate proc that makes this set...when in fact..that's not it at all. The delayed dmg is what messes people up. Will Dom + TK blast + Mental Blast+Psi Dart = Mini Spike. So easy even downies can do it. (except barrier).

Timed damage is what makes it a good team and zone set, the combination of timed damage and the placate proc is what makes it the top-tier duelist. Fix the proc and Fire goes back to number one.
