A Proposal to the Art Community.

Hi my freinds in the art commnity,

This may be the wrong place to ask about this, but I decided to talk about this after some encouragement from some freinds. First, let me tell you a story.

I may not be the greatest artist, in fact I make stick figures look like Michelangelo's David by comparison. However, after talking to some people such as EnnVee (I'm sure you guys are sick of me talking about her by now) people have started to say I have a bit of a knack for writing fantasy/science fiction. How do you factor into this? Well let me tell you.

I figure though I might not be skilled with drawing, I am skilled with the art of words, so I am hereby throwing myself upon your judgement/suggestions. Having submitted my application to DeviantArt I am now taking requests for a story to be written about your character/characters. If you think this is a dumb idea and you don't want my work, I won't be offended and things can continue as normal. But if any of you want a story about one of your characters written in my hand (which is still not perfect) I'll be happy to do my best. I am currently accepting requests free of charge until and if I am cemented as a writer here.

Again I apologize if this is the wrong place to make this post but I figured since you guys are the creative lot I hang out with you would be the most open to this. Post in this thread or PM me if you are interested or think this is a bad idea.

I'll not ask for your services since I'm a bit of a writer myself when I put my mind to it but I think this is a cool idea...

If your going to post works you may want to post them in the RP forums or risk having them moved though...

Anyway, I'd love to read stories about some of the characters we see around here. The one problem I have with the RP forums is that I have
no connection to anyone there, no hook to get me to read all kinds if back story or such... The one off stories I see I tend to read and enjoy... Anyway, the characters around here I already know in a sense and would love to read about them, their histories and adventures...

So anyway, good luck! Hopefully someone takes you up on it and we can see what you can do pretty soon!

I am also a writer with a tendency to purchase art rather than making it myself.

But I'll encourage you in this. I don't think static stories are the right place for the RP forums, but I'm sure there's somewhere to post them, at the very least you could post a link to your DA submissions on this thread.

this isnt just an art forum. it is called fan creation's so this is as appropriate place as any, however if you are after feedback for your writing at any point I beleive the afformentioned RP forum would be good for that .

I will definetly consider offering my characters for your services .

Hmmm, I appreciate the expression of talent in many forms; writing being one of them. I'm working on a vastly more in-depth look into Gray Huntress and her history, so I'm gonna be fairly consumed by that for a while...but once I'm done I'm sure you'd have enough info to draw on to have a good grasp about who she is.

Great idea GK!! I have no problems on the visual end, but I'm constantly brain locked when it comes to bios for my characters, (and I have many)! Besides, if I can take advantage of a free offer, then I'm all for it

Here is one of my characters - Tenerife. Named after a tropical island, she is designed to be a healing "Bird of Paradise". Her powers, healing and sonic are of natural origin.

Wow, I don't want to call it a speedwrite but I got inspired to write a little something as soon as I was given the opportunity. Starwind, you can find the full text of the origin story here.

I know it's rather rushed but I figured since it was only an origin story and not a full fledged adventure I had a little bit of leeway. If any of you want a longer adventure I'll definitely create something longer.

I use to belong to a spec fiction site that posted "flash" stories written in an hour, after the admin would post a "topic". Members would then post their work, and critique each others... I applied that idea to an art website in 2001, and I am proud to say even after I left, the idea carries on as part of the site's history. Met my wife this way actually

Which goes to show, artist's love to create, be it written, drawn, sung, acted... While most of us know our own characters too well to let someone else write about them, I think you could get anyone to make costume designs to inspire you. Might even be fun to switch up and write the Villain side of it.

I have a pimp Mastermind, but alas he is stuck with thugs, as there are no female pets to be had... I mean used... I mean played with... okay I give up.

Great idea. Like some others here I am much more of a writer who has been drawn to the artistic works here that I do not have the personal skill to create.

Well I'm still at it, got something a little longer this time. Pyro Nympho asked me to retell the origin of his namesake in my own words. I started working a little harder than my lazy work ethic because I wanted to get his done by Christmas for Pyro. I had a lot of fun with this one and I think while it has its quirks, it is an enjoyable read. I'm still taking any requests but it might take a little longer now that the holidays are right over my head.
