More Skeletons for AE and enemies

I know that this has been asked for before, but seriously, more non-humanoid enemies would be a big boon.

Heck, you can use the same cylinder skeleton as the jaegers and spiders for things like dogs and big-cats maybe.

I'd also still like to see sharks in the water, and I don't care if they follow me on land...it's a fantasy setting anyway.

/Jranger on the sharks.

I'm sure the community disagrees, but I'm galeophobic, and the image of sharks is enough to make me cringe. You'll have to forgive me if I disagree.

CoX operates under Fantasy-Realism. It's not a magical realm of zanyness that would naturally feature landsharks.

I'd like to point out that the game already contains shark models, used by several of Mako's PPP powers. BAB transformed himself into the shark and swam around the Ouroboros pool on the Test server once, too.

I´m always up for more non-humanoid enemies (I want to fight some freaking dinossaurs!!!!), but agree on the /Jranger for landsharks... That would be ugly, and BABs always says that ugly looking animations would be done only after he leaves the developing business... LOL (Or something like that, I´ve read it on the "water zones" thread. Sorry for misquoting you BABs!)

It's not a skeleton/model issue. There's an anecdote that BABs posted about concerning putting those sharks on the coasts of the Rogue Isles as fightable entities. It didn't work out because they couldn't keep them in the water because then they could be kited by default, and they couldn't have them chase players onto land, because that would be silly.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more "non" people to fight. I have no idea what this would take to implement or how long, but someday (perhaps in the future) this would be a real plus to the game.

Keep up the good work!

School of Sharks, Spirit Shark, and Spirit Shark Jaws all create landsharks

More seriously, if they just wanted sharks in the water, why not treat them as citizens? (if they don't aggro and can't be killed, then they'll stick to their preset paths, yes?)

That's why you give them wheels.

Can we get Dr. Aeon for an engineering solution for this?

Spirit landsharks.

And presumably because the goal was to make them a fightable enemy. Sharks without the ability to shark attack are just dull.

Here I was, thinking the OP was asking for actual "skeletons" as enemies in the AE/game. Ah, well.

....C'mon, fighting skeletons would be neat. Zombies aren't the same. I can think of a hundred different stories that would be awesome with a horde of skeletons.

Mutated cyber, super sharks with lasers for ranged attacks.

If it were that easy, it would be done. BaBs has discussed this ad nauseum... search out one of his posts (at least I feel like it was him).

No on sharks. And:

CoH is NOT in a Fantasy setting!

Are you saying magic isn't fantasy?

City of Heroes are superheroes. Super hero fiction is a side-type of fantasy. City of Heroes is fantasy.

For added clarification, the inclusion of "The Force" makes Star Wars a fantasy as well, even though it is in a setting that is more traditionally sci-fi.

Once you include magic, whatever you happen to call it, the story is a fantasy.

And I'm not talking about origins or what comic books call magic.

I'm talking about "he was in a nuclear blast and now he becomes a green-skinned berserker when he gets angry" or "he's a mutant, that's why he can ignore the laws of physics".

or hey, imagine this conversation:

"Oh, me? I become a animalistic monster that can only be killed by silver if I soak up enough moonlight, you?" "When I soak up light from a yellow sun, I can pick up mountains and fly faster than the speed of sound."

For the most part, superpowers are magic. Very rarely is there enough scientific backing for me to consider it sci-fi.
