mind/fire
Be sure to take and slot fire blast, blaze, dominate, confuse, terrify, and mass confusion. The rest are up to you. I highly recommend hasten and stamina as well.
Minimal advice: take Dominate, skip Total Domination, evenly balance your power picks and slots across both your primary and secondary.
I always thought total dom was a good skill? how come it's that bad?

Builds with high global recharge and Power Boost can get a lot out of the power, but for others it may be a waste of slots.
Total Dom is pretty useless when you can CC a mob without it.

Hmm so for my lvling build I will drop it but I guess it's wise to get it when I get permadom as that's what my pve build will be in the end.
Thanks
I use Total Dom all the time on my dom, staggered with Mass Confusion and Hasten running it helps minimize the reliance on Terrify.

And enjoy the mind/fire. It's one of the most fun characters I think I've ever played... just need to get that last few levels in on mine (44 right now. Bumped up my difficulty at level... oh, 3 or so, and never looked back.)
No offense, but doesn't this usage of "CC" seem a bit odd? If you parse it out you get: "[Total Domination] is pretty useless when you can crowd control a group of enemies without it." Just seems redundant to me. It would be especially bizarre if one were to take "mob" to mean a single enemy, as it is sometimes used, then it would just be plain paradoxical as one enemy does not a "crowd" make.

so I've had a mind/fire for quite a long time, and cant settle on a good build for pvp. 'd love some help here ^^
I went with a ranged fighting build. I skipped the melee powers and took the ranged controls and ranged fire. nothing like a solo spawn locked down and breathe fire on them
I would take mass hypnosis over total DOM. Mostly for control of extra spawns.
I did take TK as an experiement but use it rarely.
Its been a lot of fun.

On a team Mass Hypnosis is a waste.. Since most gear for the AoE dmg. First hit on a foe and they awake and ready to attack.

Some teammates want me to use it first so everyone gets a free Fulcrum shift boost aggro free.

Hi all
I'm pretty new to the dom class (I leveled one once in i7 till lvl 10) but now I would wish to give them a go.
I'm set on mind/fire and luckily for me it's a good firsttimer dom combo or so I've read, but is there any chance you guys could provide some middle of the road builds whilst leveling up - what skill is mandatory etc. just to get a general idea.
I found a guide on mind/fire from i9 but alot of people disaggreed with it so I'd rather not focus on that guide.
Thanks
