Hi all
I've been set on building a rad/dark/soul corr for a while and I'm loving it so far, but seeing as I don't really play corrs that much are there some people willing to post their builds to get a general idea? Also what io bonuses should I aim for? I don't think defense is the most urgent one since I got darkest night etc?
edit: I'm considering skipping aim and the lvl 32 nuke - is this a bad idea or should be able to manage without both? (Seeing rad gives -def & loads of it, and the nuke might actually just slow me down) -

What I'm gonna do is mix and match builds till it works for me, but it's a tedious proces as I don't have easy access to MID's on mac.
Since I probably have a different playstyle, the builds might work different for me - but your builds have proven to be awesome for acquiring my own in the past (same goes for Claws' build, and lots of others who gave me great help on my DB/WP)
I will probably go for the big hitters though as that's what I love about kat (those attacks make me feel all tingly inside ^^)
I will probably find a way to cope with end issues - probably a different playstyle, some different slotting, I'll see how I come out of it.
Anyways thanks for the help - if anyone has more to add about kat/dark feel free to as it can help me aswell others. -

As to the original question, I realize I've never actually tried katana past level 4 in 4+ years of playing, so I'm also not much help there. I find Dark Armor a very peculiar set which I have difficulty describing or explaining. Wasted on small mobs, a little weak for really big ones, it takes some work to find the right balance. Then again, I went Elec/Dark, so the +def from DA might make it quite a bit more survivable in your case.
Well I'm aiming for something Claws had in his build: soft cap, nice resistances, as high regen as possible & enough recharge to ensure a top chain including DA to help out on defence (Hope I can go with 1 application so I don't have to compromise my dps too much) Although I'm wondering how usefull is DA if I reach the softcap? Probably sitll usefull for +2-4's & AV's I'm guessing? -

I've got this new crazy idea of leveling a kat/dark (thanks Werner, your altitis becomes mine) Anyways, in the past I've had some great help on building my DB/WP and he's been a blast to play.
Now I've been reading on kat/darks and I've found out they can be softcapped, without compromising your build.
ClawsAndEffect his BS/DA is very nice and I'm thinking of following that guide - but is there any chance you guys could quickly throw a more "exemplarable" build together. Also wouldn't it be useful if I could fit PP in? (Loving that power on my DB/WP).
Another thing: are there any significant changes to be made to his attackslotting since I'll play kat instead of BS?

Yeah I figured there'd be alot of work on that build as it's i11/12, haven't really looked into khelds that much myself so optimal slotting is pretty far for me.

A blaster that maxed their S/L defense would be protected from almost all melee attacks, along with physical ranged/AoE attacks (a large chunk of them). It is more common for a blaster to try and improve his ranged defense, but S/L def is certainly a viable option.
What you may have meant was that if an attack deals multiple damage types (say, a smashing and energy ranged blast) then you will just use your highest applicable defense value to try and avoid it. If you had 30% smashing, 20% ranged, and 10% energy defense, then you would use the 30% defense value against that energy blast. -

I'm planning to roll up a dm/ea brute - and I have a question:
When I'm reading blaster forums for example alot of people slot up S/L defence on their blaster, since it apparantly also tends to make energy/cold miss as they're tied to S/L (smashing/energy attacks & lethal/cold if I'm not mistaken)
Now I'm wondering if you have an EA brute with 45% def in both would that mean you're kind of hardcapped in a way too?
Also if anyone has some sample dm/ea builds please post them as it's my first time building one of these(non purple builds).
ps: I can't open mid's since I'm on a mac so I need the full expanded build

Hi all
I'm pretty new to the dom class (I leveled one once in i7 till lvl 10) but now I would wish to give them a go.
I'm set on mind/fire and luckily for me it's a good firsttimer dom combo or so I've read, but is there any chance you guys could provide some middle of the road builds whilst leveling up - what skill is mandatory etc. just to get a general idea.
I found a guide on mind/fire from i9 but alot of people disaggreed with it so I'd rather not focus on that guide.

Hi all
I've been thriving on making an ill/therm as my newest toons and I've been checking out skill selection etc (I don't have mid's, since I 'm on a mac so I'm using suckerpunch)
But the low levels (till lvl 24-28) are a headache for skillselection, I found 2 ways: one would allow me to take skills that make me solo fine, the other would let me take enough support to be fantastic on teams but it would render me semi-uselesss solo.
Is there any chance you guys have a skeleton for the lowlevels (till 30-ish) that would allow me to do fine both team and solo (I'm not keen on using Build 2)

Hi all
After making a butload of scrappers - I decided I could use somewhat of a change. So I decided to roll redside and ended up loving stalkers.
After some research, taking pesky lethal resistances into account etc, I decided to roll DM/nin - since I can also pvp with it.
Now I got the pvp build all figured out - but I'm wondering if I need weave to softcap and I'm not sure about this , but stealth is not needed pvewise right?
If you've got some nice builds you're willing to post feel free to, one thingy - I'm on a mac and mid's for i16 isn't available to me, so the full post would be required.
