Beta's

I am wondering where you go when you want to do one of the beta's because I do not have a clue on where to look.

The COH betas include people on a "don't call us, we'll call you" basis. If you're chosen to be in a beta, through some selection criteria the devs aren't very specific about, they will contact you through your email when something becomes available. So make sure your email is up to date in the NCsoft master account.

Participation in previous betas does not guarantee being in newer ones. I was in all the closed betas until i14, then suddenly, no i15 or i16 beta invite. The Going Rogue beta will include 60+ month veteran players, and people who have kept their account active from september 15th to november 15th, however those invites won't be sent until sometime early next year.

Seconding what Leandro said. Our developers have also stated that they were checking /bug reports filed during the previous betas, and those players who were actually bug testing stood a higher chance of getting invited to further beta's.

Basically, unless you are really active in tracking down and filing bugs during the Open Betas and taking part in Test Server testing, you'll have a hard-time getting invited to future CoH beta events.

Wait, guys, let's back up a minute. Looking at OP's Reg Date here - he might be asking how to get on the Test Server, not how to get into a specific Beta.

We have some specific ways we refer to things because we have been here so long, but new people have been known to use a term that we have assigned a certain meianing to in a way we would never think of using it.

OP - if you are asking how to get on the Test Server in order to check out the various patches they are testing from time to time and to play around with your character's build - here's the thread you want:

You need to check in the forum for the Training Room/Test Server, which is where I got this link.

OTOH, Fleeting is right - asking to get into Closed Betas is likely the best way *NOT* to get asked.

That's the long an painful way to set up the test server. My way saves a lot of time.

Beta's what?

If the OP is talking about betas there was a loyalty program but if the OP didn't have an account active since August of this year he isn't eligible.

If you are invited to the closed betas, another indication is that (for i16 it was this way, anyway) you will see in the top-forum a series of "Closed <Issue/whatever> Beta" forums - by top forum I mean "boards.cityofheroes.com" - where you have to choose your language subforum.
