What Challenge settings to get bosses

I want to solo and get as many bosses as possible, BUTwith as little baddie level increase as possible AND as small a mob spawn as possible.

The reason is that I'm trying to get the Igneous Bosses badge so I'm doing the Hollows Julious TF from the Oral Portal. Igneous bosses since the remake of the Hollows spawn practically nil there now so the badge is very hard to get.

Teamsize 3*
Bosses- yes (obviously)
level -1

The hard part here is that different groups have different spawn rules. I have been running a lot of preatorian missions recent, and team size 3 gets me bosses about every 3rd group. Team size 4-5 doesn't boost that rate much

Lost/Rikti will spawn bosses, with a teamsize of 2.
Council will rarely spawn bosses even at a team size of 6.

I have no experience with the new slider and igneous speciifcally, so try 3 and see whats happens.

My impression was, that it is much easier to get Igneous bosses after The Hollows remake than it was before, even on level 50 without PBAoE. But I haven't done it in a long time.

It CAN be easier to get the Igneous bosses, or harder. It seems that, since the revamp, the Hollows spawns are more consistently affected by team size. Get a large team and go looking for them and you'll have no problem. There will be tons of them. Do it solo and you'll hardly see any.

I don't know if the virtual team size setting will get them to spawn as I have not tested that.

One thing to keep in mind is that difficulty settings have *no effect* on outdoor spawns. You can put yourself down as a team of 8 and +4 level spawns, and it won't change the number of bosses spawning out in the open.

I've tested this just last night in fact, since I, too, was hunting Igneous bosses.

However, when I joined a team that was slowly waiting for a full complement of 8 to start a TF, the number of Igneous bosses in the gulch jumped dramatically while I was on a team of 5 (with everyone else being out of the Hollows).

So, the best way to hunt bosses in the open is to be on a team if you don't have an farmable mission handy.

Actually, you should set your difficulty to NO bosses.

The bosses will still spawn, but will be scaled down to Lieutenants, just like the old Heroic setting. Lt versions of bosses will still count for badges, but you will kill them MUCH quicker, resulting in you getting your badge credit quicker.

Agree with this assessment. Was hunting Igneous bosses while Cavern Trial was being organized, the more on team the more Igneous bosses seemed to spawn.

Yup, a team size as small as 3 will make outdoor Igneous bosses abundant.

Everyday few days or so I go there and jump around the Gulch for about 15 minutes to pick off as many as I can. I usually come across about 5 or 6. I don't have a PBAoE or TAoE so I can't make the sand fires spawn igneous. And being lvl 50 they of course don't trigger.

I tried the changing challenge lvl to 8 team size but that had no affect on the spawns.
