Quick Question about Respecs

Hi,
I used the three respecs that were given free in my Veteran's Rewards. I actually need to respec one last time, so can I run a respec trial and get a free one? If I can, where and who do I get the trial from? By the way, I'm level 50. And do I only need to do one mission? Or is it a series of missions?

Just to let you know, whenever I log in, it says that I have 1 Unclaimed Respec available. I typed in '/respec' but it said I didn't have any available and to go see Jack Wolfe.

Thanks!

Yes, you have to go see Jack Wolfe, in Galaxy City. He's in the Hero Corps building, just on your right as you enter the main lobby.

Click on him to begin your respec.

For the respec mission, since this is heroside: First respec (exemp to 33), the contact is at the end of Victory Bridge. Not the end with the reactor, the other end. Second respec, the contact is in Founders, northern edge of one of the northeastern islands (farthest north you can get and still have buildings- guy in a uniform.)

You do around three missions, culminating in saving the city from nuclear death, and you are offered your choice of respec or merits.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Guide to Respecs

There are three respec trials in the game, they're each like a mini-Task Force. They have different levels and foes, but the same basic timed task at the end (save the reactor). At level 50, you have the option of doing any of them three times (one each or the same one 3 times) for the respec reward.

See the Wiki link above for info on how to do the respec trials. See the link I have in this post above for an easy-to-read overview of respecs.

Don't forget your second build!

Okay thanks!

But just to make sure, even if I've had 3 respecs from the Veteran's Rewards, I can still do a respec trial and get a respec? But I might not even have to do it if it tells me whenever I log in that I have one free respec available.

Yeah... you didn't read my link where all those points are rather clearly addressed, did you?

Hi,

am just curious as to how a 45 month (at minimum) game Veteran has never done, or at least come in contact with, the "regular" respec method.

No disrespect intended, just wondered

Cheers

My guess, if you don't respec frequently it's because you either plan ahead, read guides, guess well, don't care about micro optimizing, cashing out enhancements, etc then the free respec's we've been getting every issue and the vet respec's were enough for the casual tweak here and there. I've respec my main about five times in five years, most around the time of the GDN and ED. I also have like 60 costume tokens, wish I could sell some of them.

Honestly, I have a hard time finding players who even want to do the CoH respec trial and I'm in it for the badges. It's not merit worthy enough for merit ... ah ... nymphos to easily round up a minimum size group for the time it takes to run it.

You can run the respec trial and get an EARNED one. Unlike the free ones, you can 'carry around' multiple earned ones at the same time (a total of three).

That suggests you actually have an earned one lying around. Why don't you try talking to Jack Wolfe and see what happens. He's in Galaxy City, in the lower level of the Freedom Corps building.
