I know, lolpvp w/e.

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you all know that there has been a channel created for new pvpers, those interested in pvp but dont know who to ask for advice, and Vets alike.
The channel is called PvP101 (thank you Kat) and It should be available to anyone who wants to join it.

I really like pvp, regardless of its current state or the pvp I first got into, when HO's gave you 50% bonus rather than the standard 33%. So much infact, that I am willing to spend the majority of my in game time in this channel answering any questions anyone has, giving build advice, combat advice, or at the very least, finding an answer to a questionin I am not familiar with, just to help.

If you are interested, just join up. And if there are any experienced pvpers looking to join the chan and help out, you are more than welcome.
There is nothing to lose here .
Later guys/gals.

If you have any questions Im @EN3MY 0F M4N and @EN3MY 0F M4N II

Since this was set up last night because I had a ton of pvp questions that I was bugging Kat with, I'd just like to say that Enemy is a great resource.

I've only pvped a handful of times but I'd like to learn and Enemy had great suggestions and answered all of my noobish questions really well.

Because real men don't run from a fight nub.
Lol, j/k.
Anyway, Castle said: "The Duration of Movement Suppression in PvP is now variable based on the most recent suppression event applicable to the character."

So that means, any one of these actions you do or take part in, will cause you travel suppression. Healing, Buffing, Attacking, being attacked ect.. all cause minor Travel Supression. Since popping inspirations simulates or rather, grants you a buff, It is just cause for Travel Suppression.

Depends What you are fighting. A stalker(may be the same for other AT's as well, not sure) activating Invis will instantly go into a 600ft+ stealth radius..even with toggles on him. I do it everytime i get radded on my stalker. All he has to do after that is break enough distance between you and himself or line of sight even.
With tactics and +perception IO you arent at the perception cap, and any toon with high a high stealth power +Stealth IO can break LoS fairly easy..not to mention that you are probably being travel suppressed while they are already breaking off from you in *stealth*, thus making it harder for you to keep LoS anyway.

Non stealth classes (toons without a stealth in the primary or secondary) should be easier for you to track, given that they dont have invis and a stealth IO too.

*Edited*

The +perc IO gives 20% perception bonus to what you have. I think the base perception is 500ft and tactics adds 432.5ft (for a defender) to that giving you 932.5+ 20% = 1119 ft - 611ft(invis) which is 508 ft. And since the base perception is 500ft, it makes it seem as if you only had and extra 8ft of perception (not 100% sure if this is right).

My suggestion is to hit every target instantly after the FIRST toggle is applied, dont wait for the second one, then once you hit that person, apply the second toggle on them.

Just on this topic, I think the VEATs have a higher perc cap (one of them anyway); some teams were bringing I think the Spiders to combat Stalker teams in the day.

Peritus did a perception table back in the day, let me dig it up...

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...hlight=Stealth

There we go. Please note there are/used to be other stuff that poked through stealth:

IIRC, Mastermind pets were able to spot Stalkers. Don't know if this still works though.
Occasionally, you'll 'see' a Stalker out of stealth at a certain range.

Thanks for the channel etc.

VEATs do in fact have the highest perc cap in the game. They can see stalkers pretty easily.

Maybe because people actually have the oppurtunity to learn now. Or maybe because the people who are supposed to get people interested in PvP are actually trying to do so, rather than complain that Champion has no pvp.

But what do I know.

Question: Which hero-side AT is best equipped for taking out pesky stalkers?

Is this for solo or team pvp?

To quote han solo from star wars, it's hard to be a good blaster. I own alot of stalkers 1v1 on my blaster. Regen scrappers prob with fire or BS with prim. Earth/TA is a wicked stalker killer, anything thermal cause thermal is amazing debuffs. You either want a fast killing machine, something that can debuff and keep stalkers out of hide or tons of hp. TO be honest stalkers are not the killing machines they used to be, due to animation changes and unresistable damage changes. Problem you might be running into with stalkers, is they are great on teams. Teams usually set stalkers up for the killing shot. Esp if there are 203 stalkers out there teamn together with a dom or other AT that can set you up for a AS.
Just for the heck of it, there is a scrapper on champion named, Wolf Tundeston (something like that) he has a decent toon for pvp (scrapper) and if we gave awards away for best attitude in pvp he would win and he is a decent pvper on that scapper. Put a ranged AT in his hands and some teamage with practice he would be a great opponent. tx all GLHF

That would be Tungsten Wolf (his global is the same), one of my all time best CoH buddies. He mentioned recently that he wants to coordinate some PvP events, especially with Enemy et al.

And that Solo quote should be, "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."

I agree with pretty much what he said. But I think the Thermal's might not be as easy to defeat a stalker as the Other stuff you said, based on the fact that any competent stalker is goin to 1.) carry blues vs a thermal. 2.) Pop his tier 9. 3.) Go into hide until the thermal debuffs drop.

Lastly, This does not apply to my stalker. I will push your **** in, not die, and push it in again. (j/k lol)

Taking out? Or just being annoying?

Cause if you just want to annoy or keep a stalker out of hide, bring a stormy, an ice controller running arctic air, or a bubbler. They have auto hit auras that will either lower a stalker's stealth or punch them out of hide.

For taking out, I would say it's a toss up cause stalkers have various tools/tricks that allow them from dying. My initial answer would be like a blaster or something that dishes out a lot of DPS. (no, not scrappers)
