Tanker Tuesday Tour '09

Heeeeellooooo, Cleveland!...er, I mean Protector server.

Most(if not all) of you probably don't know me, but you may have heard about Tanker Tuesdays being held on Champion. You may have been to the 3 year anniversary which gathered 500+ Tanks on Champion with some Dev appearances, and numerous contests for prizes, or seen that it won the 2006 Favorite Player-run Event award. Or not. It doesn't matter.

I'm just one of the Tanks that have attended, and helped run it when needed every first Tuesday for 60 straight months.

Well, to make a long story short, we thought it would be fun to hold some Tanker Tuesdays on the other servers. One a month, on the 3rd Tuesday (regular TT is 1st Tuesday on Champion) going in alphabetical order.

So, all you Tank lovers please meet up on the wall near the Independence Port Gate in Kings Row Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 9 pm est where we will split into teams to have some all-tanker fun.

All levels, and powersets are welcome, as long as you are a Tank.

The only requirement is that you have fun, and take the initiative to attain it. Any Protector Tanks who want to step up, and co-host/lead a team, please do. Just show up, and let us know. The more the merrier. No sign-up is necessary.

If you want to run a TF, let us know so we can see if others would like to join you, and we'll try to put a team together. We've completed pretty much every TF in the game with an all-Tank team, including STF, and ITF (results may vary ).

We usually try to form the TFs before normal mission teams.

To assist in forming teams, we ask that you hold up the numbers:

1 for levels 1-10
2 for levels 11-20
3 for levels 21-30
4 for levels 31-40
5 for levels 41-50

with the Judge emote (i.e. /em score 10) while standing on the wall. Once picked for a team, please join your team off the wall. It also helps if Tanks with like numbers stand close to each other on the wall.

I might even try to run a Tanking 101 team. For this, please let me know via tell.

I also ask that you join the TankHQ channel(/chanjoin TankHQ) for the event, or longer if you want, especially if you are late. Please let us know through the channel, and we'll do our best to put you on an appropriate team.

Oh, I dunno, it could be a good reason to miss TfT. Plus we have a break coming around-the Eden Trial, then the LGTF, then we're back at Posi.

I might even be willing to dredge Kyo up out of my character list for something like this.

If enough people want to do this instead of TfT we can postpone the Eden Trial til next week, but since this is coming up, let me know!

W00T!! TT Tour, I'll be there!

The All Tanker Eden Trial was one of the funnest times I've had in this game. I just wish I had a tank high enough on Protector to run one....but don't let that stop you guys from doing it, or any other TF.

It will slow down my Day Job badge progress.... but what the heck. I'm in for this tonight.

I'll stop by with good ol' Kreetch, but won't be able to stay more than 1 hour - got a meeting at the office bright and early tomorrow morning (I normally work from home).

Since my show coincides with this event i will be providing complete coverage via KJSR.net!

I actually do not have a tank.

I was on the last banner with Team 2 and got mapserved out when it stood at about 10% health last night.

Client decided to do a complete verification afterwards and I just couldn't be bothered to stick around while it did that since it was getting late for me. Sorry for any inconvenience.

But this was good fun, and I know the lower level tanks on the team had a rough go at handling the mobs at times, but the levels made up for it I hope.

Pep, if this is going to be a regular occurrence on Protector, I would be more than happy to help out in any way.

Dang, I had to miss it. RL stepped in a bit too harshly yesterday. Sounds like it was a lot of fun.

Stalemate, (I'm not Pep, but I'll provide an answer) if you want to get a TT going on Protector go for it. The 4th Tuesdays of the month currently don't have any TTs scheduled so that might be the day to shoot for (or possibly the 3rd after the Tour concludes(?) or are we starting over? ).

Current TTs Schedule:

Champion Classic TT- the 1st Tuesday of every month
Justice (TTJ) - the 2nd Tuesday of every month
TTT (the Tour) - 3rd Tuesday of every month (start over afterwards?)
Reloads - currently the 4th and 5th (if available)

Although we have been reloading on the 4th Tuesdays there is no "official" TT running on that date. Of course there's nothing stopping from using another Tuesday, but it might restrict turnout due to multiple TTs running at the same time.

A good way to test is to run a reload to Protector. After a couple you can judge the turn out and go from there.

So how about it anyone want to reload to Protector on the 27th?

First off, Thanks Pep for organizing this event- it was good times!

The Peregrine2 crash pretty much halted the event, but I hope a good time was had by all.

I would love to see this become a regular occurance, count me in for next time if we decide to get one going again.

the one issue with this i see is the regular TfT which is every tuesday. we halted it this week for people who wanted to do this instead but i cant see us doing that every couple of weeks.

Well...Stalemate you're always welcome on Justice and Champion

Well...nobody said anything about anyone leaving, I was merely inviting Stalemate to the other servers that run the event on a regular basis, as I would come to Protector for TfT. I'm sure if TT was an event the player base on Protector wanted you could come up with a solution that would be amiable for everyone. Perhaps another day or maybe before or after TfT. In any case TTs are an open event to all players as long as they're running a Tank. My offer stands not only to Stalemate, but anyone that would like to participate. We'd love to have you join in the fun!

Does the Tanker Tuesday community have a website, a manifesto I could read up on?

As for playing on other servers... it very rarely happens I'm afraid.

Not because I don't like them (well, OK, I don't like Freedom and Virtue scares the crap out of me), but more because my badge hunter is here and so are pretty much all my CoH buddies.

I'm sorry I missed this, sound's like a good time. Is there enough interest to do it again? I hope so, Nov 16th is the third Tuesday of the month. I'll dust off Vir and glide on over to Kings Row, it'll be fun to see y'all there.

I'm not sure about the Tanker Tuesday website, not one to my knowledge... For back information on TT AceMace has a EA mission "Night of 1000 Tanks" that has a lot of the TT history included in it. As for other info, probably best to hang out with the original group on Champion to pick up the "creed" of Tanking.

As for running another TT on Protector I'm up for it. Like I offered before this coming Tuesday should work for me, October 27th, and I'm willing to captain the Reload. If you all are interested post here. It would be at the usual TT time and place, so IP Gate in King's Row 6pm PT/9pm ET. I'll post something on the Tanker forum as well.

Today's the day! The Tanker Tuesday Tour reloads to Protector! If you missed the first one or enjoyed running riot through the streets of Paragon with other Tanks then join us tonight in King's Row at the IP Gate, 6pm PT\9pm ET. All power sets and levels welcome as long as you're a Tank!

To help speed the team forming process along please line up on the wall and hold up your level range card ( use the judge emote then the appropriate level range, so /em score 1 for a level 1-10 Tank).

1 for levels 1-10
2 for levels 11-20
3 for levels 21-30
4 for levels 31-40
5 for levels 41-50

Join your team as soon as you're picked.

We'll get any TF's formed first and set the mission teams after that.

Thanks all for turning out on a short notice TT Reload. I had a good time ToTing and running a few radio mission in Talos. Was it me, or was this an unusually Single Target Damage TT? lol! Anyways, had fun!

Yeah, a friend of mine joined in later on a fire tanker but you're quite right.

One of the team members got 10 levels out of the 9-11(?) PM run. I think overall about 16 levels were gained.
