Kheldian Players...
I have a set of 3 macros that I use on my PB to shape shift and change power trays. I'll share 'em with you when I get home.
"Goodbye, Jean-Luc. I'm gonna miss you... you had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end..." -- Q
The change in powers bars is one of the few annoying things about the EAT's. None of mine are that high a level, I can only imagine what it must be like with 3-4 full trays full of powers.
I only use macros for cosmetic purposes in video games.
On my shapeshifter Warshade I just click the power and hit - and = to shift my power bar from nova to human to dwarf.
There's a reason my current Peacebringer is Human only....
The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.
Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.
/macro Nova "powexectoggleon Dark Nova$$gototray 4" /macro Dwarf "powexectoggleon Black Dwarf$$gototray 5" /macro Human "powexectoggleoff Black Dwarf$$powexectoggleoff Dark Nova$$gototray 1$$powexectoggleon Gravity Shield" |
Note 1: Change tray numbers to suit - these are the trays I use for my WS.
Note 2: Do not copy and paste from here. Windows tends to change quotations to smartquotes which are not recognized in game. The quotes in this case are necessary to tell the game to execute more than just the first command.
Note 3: Obviously change Black Dwarf to White Dwarf, and Dark Nova to Bright Nova if you're a Peacebringer.
Note 4: You can also swap the secondary and tertiary trays: gototrayalt <#> and gototrayalt2 <#> should work for those.
Note 5: You can drop the powexectoggleon part for the human macro if you don't use the shields. I can't see a reason not to use them, so switching on my Smash/Lethal shield when out of other forms is helpful.
--------------------------------------
Bonus: /macro costume "cce 1 <ccemote>$$s <witty saying here>"
If I remember correctly it's something like this:
/macro Squid "powexecname Dark Nova$$GotoTray 9"
Edit: Scooped while doing actual work.
Tech Support Rule #1 - They will lie to you. Usually intentionally.
My PB and Warshade are essentially Human-Only because of one simple reason:
I feel the Dwarf and Nova forms are merely hamstrung versions of Tankers and Blasters, respectively. If I felt like playing as an NPC, I would roll up a Wolf Spider again and turn off the XP accrual at level 2.
Besides, with the "extra" powers you get as either form, while at the same time you're still getting powers that can only be used in human form, you have to divide your enhancement slots even more sparsely among powers that you may or may not be using. What the Hell is the point to getting any of those human powers when you'll just be switching between Nova and Dwarf and you can't even USE them!? I remember the days when Fitness didn't transfer into the Alternate Forms, and that was what sold it for me: [To Hell] with the Alternate Forms.
I know there are players out there who swear by Tri-Form, or even just one Alternate Form, but it all seems like such a waste to me. I don't bother with the alternate forms. They distract from powers that make my character versatile, powerful and shiny.

I might go against my normal theology and try those macros out. They really sound good.

All worked perfectly. I owe you one.

There isn't a way to have the macro change the second tray is there? As is, it changes the first tray, but I don't change that one on any of my characters.
If I can get this to work the way I want, I would totally use this. It's pretty cool
Thanks a bunch. My macro skillz need some serious practice

My bad, thanks.
Blue! Dude! You gotta try this! It's awesome!
The only downside is that you have to have one extra button to go back to human form.
I have teamed with both and they can tank stuff that would eat most tanks into the ground. Ok, usually it's me on the ground, but still...

I have/had a PB on Victory that I'd delete in an instant if it wasn't that I'm fond of the concept for him. He's just a couple of levels past getting the lobster form right now, and I found it horribly difficult to play him until now. I wanted to go 2-form with him, so skipped the squid.
I think Kheldians, like other archetypes, appeal specifically to a certain type of player. To truly excel with them you really have to like playing them - and in my case this is proving difficult.
How about a "Ask Knowmad" thread where we (OK, "I") could plumb the depths of your experience?

On a team after i13, Khelds are tank mages. I admit I may be a bit biased by having played my Warshade for thousands of hours over 4.5 years.

Seriously, with a WHOLE lot of work, work that comes at the detriment of other capabilities the Kheldian would otherwise be capable of, the Peacebringer or Warshade can measure up to stuff most Tankers would tremble at. Conversely, you can put the same effort into a Tank or even a Scrapper and wind up with a powerhouse that would make most AVs and GMs tremble, all without sacrificing any capabilities.
In the meantime, I have been able to take my Human Form Kheldians and really make the otherwise ignored powers shine through regular use. Hell, my Warshade even goes into "Tanker Mode" when he kicks on Eclipse. My Peacebringer has Light Form to handle her tanking duties (if they ever occur).
In all, I prefer the true versatility of the Human-Only Kheldians, as opposed to the illusory versatility of the alternate forms.

Have to say I love my PB and not to fond of the WS, but the WS just needs a respec basically and he'll be fine. I've tanked Imp and his fluffies even with lobster and blasted good with the squid. Human form can be great for all activities, it basically just depends on the mood that I'm in, to which playstyle I want.

Over in the A&P forum, there is a discussion about Epic AT's Link
In that thread there is talk about keybinds and Macros to swap your power trays when you shape shift. Does anyone have a set of Macros that they would not mind sharing? I'm getting tired of having to click powers when I shape shift, and my Macro creation ability is suspect.
Oh while you are at it, does anyone have a macro that will have your character say something when using the costume change emotes? I tried what BaB posted, but I keep getting errors.
