Are they still used as farmers?Been on blueside for so long on my fire/kin that I've lost all contact with anyone I used to know or could ask on redside.

Any help on builds, answers, etc is appreciated.

I still see some Fire/Psi farmers around, but I personally wouldn't use one anymore, there are better options.

They are decent but SS brutes are top choice now.

even as a solo farmer?

only reason I ask is I farm solo the majority of the time (last farm with a team was pre-AE then disappeared for about 6 months thanks to real life issues)

so forgive the ignorance but I just don't see how a solo SS/WP(FIRE, etc) brute would be better for farming. Then again, maybe, possibly, it depends on the mission for the farm and what foes are being attacked.

Take a look at the damage psychic shockwave does now, and then at what foot stomp does (with near full fury plus rage)

ah yes, when I returned to the game after the "break", I noticed the massive drop in damage output on PSW. But Soul Drain certainly helps.

I'll have to get my SS/Elec up someday for comparison, though he's been sitting at 26 for 2 yrs

Rage + Fury + Footstomp will trump anything /Psi offers now. Not only was the damage of PSW nerfed, but so was the recharge and radius which hurt the AoE damage output a lot.

The damage wasn't nerfed per se; it remained about the same (about 70 base both before and after).

For what it's worth, shockwave + psi-scream do about the same damage as footstomp on a full fury, raging brute. The combo's a bit harder to use, but it actually does more damage (282 for full-fury + raged footstomp vs 144+157=301 for the shockwave/scream combo) and psi-scream recharges a bit quicker (16 seconds vs 20).

So... <shrug>.

If I quote #'s, they're from City of Data.
Global: @Kazari

It was either Taunt or Purple Triangles of Doom. I stand by my decision!

True enough, but it's a narrow cone. I'll take an SS brute any day for this purpose.

Yea I'm not saying the damage is terrible, it's still rather pretty good, but to make good use of Psi-Scream you need to be pretty far back. While you do that damage briefly stops from Hot Feet.

Being able to just stand in the middle of a group with say a SS/Fire is much more convenient. With ticks of 50 or so damage from Blazing Aura, plus Elec Fences, Burn and Ball Lightning, things will just fall a lot faster.

Although, pre-i15 the similar idea was used to just stand in the middle of a mob and spam PSW. Then on my Fire/Psi I pretty much had capped damage, double proc'd PSW recharging in 2.5 seconds.

I haven't really noticed that much of a diffrence...but I always used Psi-Scream as a filler attack..just spamming PSW was boring. Also the primary does more damage now so you have to factor that in. My farm build can still handle the "snake farm" solo..so I'm not complaining too much. Miss old PSW but with enough recharge, it recharges fast enough..no like before but fast enough. If you're lucky enough to have a rad or kin along for support (like a lot of Brute do...) Fire/Psi is a still a very good farmer..and can compete with brute level damage output..IMHO.

Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi

I have a fire/psy farmer for my secondary acct and a elec/shield brute for my primary as far as redside farmers go. Until I16 I mostly prefered to use my dom due to the way you could set up AE LT farms. Now with I16 wrecking farming, or making it much more difficult anyway, I prefer the brute. Either can be utilized well, just have to eat more insp on the dom than previously. At this point, if I HAD to pick one or the other, brutes would be the winner.
