out of sight out of mind works for me as long as I don't have to scroll past more stickied threads or see people shilling for folks that aren't even supporting the game then I lose intrest in this discussion .
Its still my intent to continue spamming the mods to get all outside advertising removed but one step at a time .
secondly TA if your honestly selflessly trying to promote art and the community then thumping your chest about all the wonderful things you do is a pretty goofy way to go about it , do you seriously want applause because you purchase art ..I know I gotta be reading that wrong somehow but it sure sounds like your tossing out a golden calf to be venerated
Thirdly I could care less if I get praise or crits on my work but the idea that I should hold Rowr , Blues , comrade hero or katfood in high esteem because they purchase art is laughable to me .
I adore Rowr , Comrade Heroes always cool , blues meh , you I always got along with ...but to think i'll praise any of those folks for buying art is beyond me .
my time on these forums isn't made or hindered by people that somehow think they should have a say based on how much art they buy , I mesh with folks I mesh with and no amount of money being thrown around makes someone a great member of the community

I've been drawing and posting here since not long after I joined CoH I enjoy this section of the forumsTrying to turn the art forum into the used car lot section of the newspaper where you can find amazing deals and bargins isn't striking me as a great community builder
Espescially considering how down the mods are on real world transactions , go take a look at the market section were it explicitly outlines this , heck even here we aren't allowed to discuss prices and now someones trying to push the real world transactions issue more out front ...great community builder there .
I come here to post art and view art relating to the City of Heroes MMO , art either made or purchased by folks that actively play the game .
if your not playing the game why should I have to view advertisements while perusing the forums for someone thats not even playing .
and if your friends are getting offended perhaps theres more than a little truth in what suichis saying , im glad you pointed out me and suich are friends as if that somehow invalidates me having an oponion ..its like me pointing out your a comission based artist and your friends list seems to be populated with folks that comission you whom you might not wanna offend .
I don't know what friends list you are referring to. but if you mean the folks that I have listed in my post, not all of them are my friends I just know well enough from talking and working with them that they aren't a bunch of vipers. the people I listed in my post were folks that I felt were being generalized. I didn't see the point in adding Foo, Lady J, juggertha, Pirate cashoo etc into there as they aren't being accused of taking art for granted. but I am friends with the those artist's as well.
I am not a commissionable artist's I am a full time student who takes fan art commissions when I need financial assistance. I aspire to make art for a living, its what I have always wanted to do, but if it werent for the fact that there is this market out there I would have been forced to give up on my dream because of financial hardship. so I am very grateful for what TA and others have started because it gives artist's an opportunity to make money and learn while doing what we love to do.
we are all human beings first and foremost and we all have feelings, suichiro is right, Honesty is a good thing to have and express, but I manage to be honest and still use enough verbal finesse to avoid hurting large portions of the community. like the old saying you catch more flies with honey then vinegar so there is no need to be so bitter, especially in suichiro's case considering he's tendency to deliberately avoid sharing he's artwork here, which I don't understand, like you say in your gallery, he does great work and should show it, but I get the feeling suichiro makes concerted efforts to avoid being a part of this community as a whole and just likes to sit back and
take offense to things that have no relivence to him as he doesnt even sell he's art to folks here in mass. so the sales thread will not effect him in any way at all but yet he likes to treat it as if it were a personal attack. and then lashes out in kind by personally insulting every non artistic person who frequents the boards? from an outward perspective that is what looks like is happening. so basically he is someone who dilliberately isolates himself from the other folks here and then expects he's opinion to be the one and only truth. well it is, To him. I can see he's opinion I am able to understand and empathize with he's plight, I just fail to see why he is not able to do the same.
that last part is more direct to suichiro then I really want it to be, but it's honest. which is something I am sure he will appreciate. I don't claim it as absolute truth because I dont know him that is just what I have assertained from my observations of he's behavior. I have seen alot of proof towards suichi's big heart I am just wondering why he feels so bitterly towards everyone here? If there are reasons state them specifically so we can help you get that chip off of your shoulder, the only problem I have ever had with suchi is he's in ability to see another person's perspective.
No doubt this will be taken as an attack and warped into another bullet in the arsenal as to why I and many others are destroying this community, but I want you to at least try to see it from my perspective, I am not here to argue I am here to try and solve a problem.
