New RPvP idea

I been thinking of starting a new RPvP theme idea and tell me what you guys think? After playing most of the games content, PvPing, Strike Forces, Task Forces, etc… I want to do something different on this server. I was playing a first person shooter game and was thinking that it would be cool if CoH/V had a something similar to it. Well I think we can do something like that. Since both sides for the most part have the same powers then listed bellow are the powers I think we can use and AT’s for this type of RPvP:

Rules:
1. Matches will be 10 – 30 min long
2. No Travel powers
3. No TP Foe & TP Friend Allowed
4. No Melee
5. No Phase Shift
6. Tier 1 Inspirations allowed
7. Max recovery
8. Aid Self is allowed
9. Teams size and FFA will be according requests
10. All matches will not exceed lvl 40 because of the unnatural Patron Powers and Epic Powers
11. No Vengeance Is allowed
12. Pets will be allowed
13. We will have tournament style matches once we have enough players.

This is more of a PvP idea than Role Play. I just wanted players to be on a equal playing field. This will be kinda hard for some people to get used to since we will not have healers or buffers. You will die on this type of PvP, but you will just have to have more kills than the person or teams you are going against.

Is this a good idea or bad idea?

I honestly don't see any of those builds beating a bots/traps. Well, maybe they could beat mine, but definitely not a good one.

I was thinking of lowering the pets the MM is allowed in the match. For example they can only use one set of the pets, either tier 1, tier 2 or tier 3 pets.

I could see this being fun...I was thinking of rolling a traps/arch anyways.

I'm not making fun. I'm actually thinking I might do this.

EDIT for questions: Crabs can't have backpack and gun? Same question for Banes? Also, by "backpack blast powers", you aren't excluding grenades from the backpack, right?

I would turn my second arachnos build into something I could use. In the bane set I get 4 range powers in my primary, 2 pets, debuff, and a Immob in my secondary. Since I dont need a travel power I can get Aidself and since I dont need Phase shift I can get Tough and Weave because patron powers are not allowed.

I like the idea but personally I hate assault rifle and wouldn't want to roll most of the other combos. I can probably refit my bane to a second build for it.

The MM part concerns me however. I think I have to agree with Karl on it. And if you allow vengeance (if you are intending this to be teams), I'd be even more concerned. (then again, since 13, I don't know squat about PvP so what the hell do I know?

I would need to role a new toon, cause none of mine fit within the regulations; but this seens pretty awesome if you ask me. I could see it being teams of eight running around Warburg. Also because of the lack of buffs outside of aid self/aid other people would have to start using some real tactics . . . gorilla warfare in CoH!

It would be 99% of the time in arena. I would like to do the Graveyard map and have one team behind the wall and defend it while the other team tries to take it over. Or the striga map and place traps in the woods and wait for people to cross your path. Since end will not be an issue I can imagine some crazy slotting for acc, dam and range for super snipes.

Thats awesome Soto I like that a lot. Heres something that just came to mind when I was skyping with Cath. End will be set to max so its more like a FPS, but shouldn't end be similar to the amount of ammo a guy carries in a FPS? Also in arena can the regen rate be reduced, cause most FPSs the guy doesn't have regen abilities outside of a med pack. (aid self)

I figured since nobody will have end drain powers then it wouldnt be an issue. I wanted to focus to be assault.

Yes, I dont want to take stamina, but I would still probably take some of the other fitness powers.

Secondary for any Arachnos Soldiers would be "Training and Gadgets" only?

Or is it okay to take the non-combat powers from Crab / Bane?

If the description of the power begins with melee then its not allowed and everything else is cool.

hmmmm...this actually sounds kinda fun. I have an Arch/devices blaster that I might be able to use as is, but could always dual build for this if need be, and I was gonna make an arch/TA corr anyway. Me likey this idea.
