Give into the darkness...we have waffles.

Also, I'd say it would be good to experiment with some of the villains to see their playstyles since some are quite different. In the upcoming Going Rogue expansion (release date unknown) you'll be able to switch sides between good and evil so it wouldn't hurt to get a head start. Also, the zones are a bit more linear which can help you find your way a little easier though there's also a little less content overall.

Thanks for the warm welcome and many friendly replies. I'll look up a SG when I've setteled on a character, as I said before, I love them all so it's hard to choose one right now, lol.

Once I do settle on a toon, I'll try and find a SG, and hopefuly head to level 50.

I have 1 Villain character that I tried out. Just not my thing. Can I still have waffels? ;-)

What did you try out? Your answer determines what is (or isn't) shared...

Brawler, had fire and Strenght (I think). It was all beastial looking and dark, it looked awesome. The part that gets me is that you gotta beat up cops and Detention Officers right from the start, kinda strikes a bad note with me for personal reasons.

No one tell him about Phipps. :0

I can respect that. One way around that is skipping the tutorial and only doing custom missions in the Architect Entertainment building. Still, it might be best just to wait until GR to see how sideswitching works out.

I appreciate the respect instead of "Lol, just pixels dood!"

Is the Arch realy worth it? Does it give as much xp at lower levels as reg missions and the tutorial?

For what it's worth, I made a point of creating a character of every type, and was able to solo missions with each of them. I tend to like Scrappers and Tankers the most, but I admit that it's nice to be a helpful Defender too - especially when in teams.

Although "origin" isn't of huge importance, I liked selecting it based on the theme of the character. As roleplay appeals to me, I liked having things consistent; and I will sometimes select options based on what makes sense for a character as opposed to what is BEST. (For example, I never bothered to get Taunt for my Tanker. Let the derision commence ) Origin also has a minor impact on some of the special powers you get with badges.

Enjoy the game!

Recently, the XP gains on AE were deliberately lowered since the dev intentions were for it to be a storytelling tool and people found some exploits to blatantly powerlevel. However, you level up pretty fast regardless at lower levels. Main benefit is that heroside the low level stories aren't as well done (it's much older content than the rest of the game and hasn't been updated) and lowbie villainside has very few stories overall. And of course there's the storyline/RP choices of using an archetype that is good/evil for the opposite purpose.

I'd argue that you should try out either a Stalker or a Mastermind for the sake of trying them out. Stalkers have Hide which is a built in stealth mechanic and wind up with their damage being front loaded bursts as opposed to more even amounts that Scrappers have. MMs are essentially their own team. You summon henchmen (up to 6 total when you get to higher levels) that fight for you and you can control what they do to an extent.

There are some really good arcs from earlier Hero Side content.

"The Freaklympics" is still one of my favorite story arcs in the game. (Levels 25-30.)

Actually, just about anything involving Freakshow is glorious.

The Rikti arcs were really unsatisfying to me until you open up Angus McQueen's "Division Line" arc at level 40. That really ties the story up rather nicely and leads right in to the Rikti War Zone content and the Lady Grey Task Force.

My least favorite arcs on the blue side have to be the Indigo and Crimson arcs since half the missions involve traveling between Founders Falls and Peregrine Island to pass love letters between those two. They should get some of those funky mobile phones the kids are raving about these days.

The worst arc in the game is still Kelly Uqua's "Blurring the Lines" red side. I hate that contact with the burning fury of a thousand thousand suns.

/Phipps is awesome, though.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

At least you have base and o-zone tp now, takes you right to them just about.

Yeah, everyone is great, both in game and here on the Forums. I actualy found a Fire Tanker to be pretty awesome, and am now playing it full throttle! It helps I found a realy great person and guild to help me out.

If you are ever wandering hero side, look me up, my toons name is the same as my Forum name.

Dark armor is a little rough for starting off with because of the end cost. However it shines in the later levels. Regen = easy buton and very solo friendly.

I love my energy/energy blaster ( <3 buildup at level 4) and is decent for soloing but overall, blasters are difficult for soloing if you are new to the game.

If you hookup with the forum folks (ie Isolaters) it won't matter what you play since teaming in this game is cake and you'll have help from experienced players. I really can't stress teaming enough. Having played WoW and leveled to 80 and mid 70s characters, I know teaming on WoW sucks bigtime in comparison.
