Wrong game version error please help

How the christ did this happen?

I have tried deleting the checksum file and allowing it to run it again. I have also verified the game files using the launcher.

any ideas before I just cancel my sub and ask for my money back?

It appears the client patched itself, however, the servers will probably be patched later this morning. You'll likely be fine after the maintenance.

It just decided to spontaneuosly fix itself after I rebooted my pc for the third time.

There doesn't seem to be an actual solution beyond keep restarting the updater and see if it decides to fix itself to the right version.

I've seen this once before when I had both EU and US clients installed to the same folder (same thing could also apply to either Test server) and the different servers had different patch versions - once they are in synch things should be OK.

Looks like it fixed itself eventually.

I didn't bother rebooting but restarted the patcher a few times, eventually verifying all files. it did this and came back fine (as in leaving me at *.5T2). Then I gave it a 5 minute rest and restarted the patcher again and it reported it was fixing files. Now it is reverting back to *.4T2

I'm getting the same error. I'm guessing it's the patch that'll probably hit live later on today, but I don't like the idea of having to wait for 9+ hours before I'll be able to play, so I'm restarting the patcher constantly and verifying files every so often.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, but eh.

yeah i had restart my patcher several times and it fixed itself

It eventually fixed itself for me, too - restarted the patcher constantly and a fix eventually took.

Best of luck to anyone else who's dealing with the same issue. :/

It was doing the same to me. Unfortunately, I had to go to work. Hopefully it will be okay when I try it tonight.

Yeah, I had the same problem. Started up the game, it patched, then told me I couldn't log in because I had the wrong version. O.O Now it's patching again. No CoH this lunchtime I guess. LOL

Exact same error for me. I just got home and loaded the Updater. It patched quickly, I tried to log in and I can't.

I've tried running the updater again but it won't connect. Ahh! What's going on it's DOOOOM!

Same exact thing happened to me just now. But I kept restarting the patcher (didn't bother to reboot), and eventually it repaired the files and was able to log in fine.

To anyone experiencing this, I'd say just keep trying the updater, verify the files, and eventually it appears that you'll be able to get in.

I reserve my right to get frustrated when the game I pay to play doesn't work.
