Hello everyone! fire/fire blaster is my favorite build and I really want a AV soloing build for my main character. I have some ideas of what would be good but I would like to hear any ideas or suggestions from all of you. This build is going to be strictly for AV soloing and solo missions so please be brutal with it! Also any build suggestions or IO ideas would be awesome cause Im not completely sure where to go yet. Money is of no matter because I will do whatever to get what i need so build ideas including purples or the best IOs would be awesome! Please let me know what you think!

The best way to do this is with ranged defense IO bonuses and kiting/immobolizing (AVs have poor Immob. resists and are easily stopped with one or two applications of a well slotted Ring of Fire). I've got a build that can solo AVs pretty well without a real heal, but that may not work best for you...

Since I like keeping my build secret I'll just suggest IOs : )

Thunderstrike is your best friend.
Executioner's Contract is also a great set for Blazing Bolt
Fully slotting Ring of Fire with Trap of the Hunter yields a good bonus
Mako's Bite in Fire Sword is also good
Two slotting Blessing of the Zephyr is a great way to get a nice bonus

Oh, also, your APP is very important to making yourself able to solo AVs. Don't just go with one that looks the prettiest, sometimes you have to look like blockman to get things done...

An easy way to keep AVs at range is simply take hover and take snow storm (since it is a -fly) from the ice epic to keep them grounded. You don't need to use multiple applications of ring of fire that way. If the AV can't fly then, you don't even need snow storm.

Further, ring of fire *should* be slotted for damage and made part of your attack chain. The attack has great dpa which is important for soloing AVs and it can take the Thunderstrike set which contributes to your ranged defense.

The snipe and fire sword may be taken but they're mostly set mules if you're going for an all ranged approach. Sure you can be opportunistic and use fire sword once in a while kiting the AV, but you'll never use the snipe (slow and relatively poor damage for activation time). Also, Executioner's Contract has horrible attributes apart from the 6th global bonus it provides.

I can see an attack chain consisting of flares, ring of fire and blaze...all high dpa attacks chained continuously.

After maxing out ranged defense, I'd concentrate on recharge, end recovery and hitpoints. Be aware though that some AVs (Infernal comes to mind) also launch some very high damage ranged AoE attacks, so if you can get some AoE defense that will be helpful as well.

And lol @ this "secret build" business. There's *many* builds that can solo AVs, and the only thing that determines a successful AV soloing build in many cases is being able to put together something decent in Mid's and being able to fund it. I'm not presumptuous enough to think that I've come up with something super duper secret that at least a thousand other players haven't already come up with.

Assuming you want to do it without insps/temps go with Kranik's advice.

Personnally I like using insps on my AV soloing blasters so I can get into melee for the highest damage attacks. Of course, there's also the risk of getting hit by the AV highest damage melee attacks, and using insps means you're operating with a time limit. Ultimately, it's probably less efficient in terms of player deaths per AV kill, but I find it much more thrilling.

Here's what I'd use for that purpose on a fire/fire :

The empty slot in Temp Invul would be a PVP +3 def IO, bringing defense to 21% (softcap with 2 lucks). Chain would be Blaze FS FB.

Awesome! Thank you so much and thanks for the use of fire manipulations melee attacks because thats what i use for my AOE Dam and all purpose build so thats close to home. I like the build as well seems close to something I would definitely use.

But I am still open to any ideas from others or any other suggestions if you have found success with your fire/fire build. Any pointers are more than welcome. So please keep them coming!!

I'd do it this way.

This is more of a hover / ranged / keep them pinned down with ring of fire / snow storm approach. Chain would be ring of fire, flares, blaze, flares.

You're not quite soft capped (44.8% assuming PvP +3% def IO in the open slot), but you're close enough. Your heals would be the occasional hoarfrost and hibernate if you got hurt bad.

Definitely not as exciting as Nihilii's approach, but not as dependent on inspirations. Might be possible (though doubtful) that you could make it without using a single inspiration, though I suspect you would have to eat a green or three if the AV got a consecutive string of lucky hits.

Is Snow Storm required to ground AVs? I don't recall them having any special protection against -Fly, and I could ground Mary with just one RoF.

EDIT: As was pointed out to me in game, RoF (blaster version) does indeed have -fly. I stand corrected on this point.

Yes I definitely dont want to have any kind of reliance on insp! I want to have this build such that I am able to take down any AV without using insp if at all possible. I think that would be pretty awesome and fun ability I would definitely take advantage of....however I was wondering if there was an AV build out there for a fire/fire/fire blaster...meaning with only the use of the flame mastery epic pool if any. Just to kind of go with my chars theme. If anyone has any propositions or ideas for something like that, that would be kind of cool. Understanding it might not be the best option it still would be cool to see...even though ill proly go off the other two ideas because i havent seen one like that yet and they have come up with very solid builds to back it up!

But thank alot to Fury that is a very solid build!

I wouldn't exactly say that is a good idea, since Snow Storm can be rather harsh on endurance, especially during a sustained fight that may last 10mins or so. Ring of Fire in itself is a very decent attack to include in your chain: Flares, Blaze, Flares, RoF.

You slot it for damage too, with a Thunderstrike set.

If you look at my proposed build, that is indeed what I suggest as a potential attack chain. And RoF is slotted with Thunderstrikes.

Fury did suggest that in his previous post and just has snow storm as an option but what you are say about endurance cost is something to consider.

All that aside does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a AV build that is strictly fire/fire/fire....meaning if there will be use of a epic powerset it would be Flame Mastery. I have heard friends in game talk about some sick fire/fire/fire blasters that can AV solo like none other but I havent met one myself and would love to have a similar build for my fire/fire blaster. Please let me know if you are out there or if you know what they have done!!

You may want to consider some AoE defense as ranged attacks are only for ST ranged attacks, also Psi is a non positional attack so I would stay away from those types of AVs.

I is possible to softcap range and AoE defenses, not sure if you can do it on a Fire/Fire, but since that is your fav, I would say at least get to the softcap for range.

No its definitely possible! I can already solo certain AVs with my AOE dam/hp/regen build but I was looking for a build that would allow me to completely solo any AV...if its possible. Which I think it is.

But that is always something you want to cover in any build, especially an Av build, for sure!

I'm not sure a Blaster can solo some of the psi heavy AVs without inspirations. You'll be held most of the time (since they use holds that have no positional component and therefore can't be avoided with defense) which means no healing and no Blaze. Unless you have enough +regen to passively out-heal the damage from those holds as well as the lucky hits that get past your defense (highly unlikely if you are also softcapping) you'll need Break Frees.

My Archery / Energy Blaster uses an all ranged build with over 30% ranged defense, so I can easily softcap with a Luck or two against hard targets. A couple of the psychic AVs (I think Malaise was one) tended to hold me very often anyway... I had to use Break Frees to solo them as EBs. A high end build could probably solo them as full AVs with Break Frees, but doing it without them would be extremely dangerous.

Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name
