It's free. I'm still downloading the client (I got the download manager so it downloaded what I needed to play the game). It's still creating and validating information to actually download into that space. I wonder why it's taking that long.

It's a fun game, but it is rather repetitive and it does require you to team up constantly when you're past the first few levels. Much like a D&D table top game (at least 3.5 and earlier) each class has it's own skill set to bring to the table. While you might be able to skip some of those, dungeons are designed around having a group of 4-6 people with all the classes covered.

Sure you can get by without a rogue... but you'll be eating a lot of damage from traps that could have otherwise been disarmed and missing some treasure behind locked chests and doors.

Sure you can go in without a healer, but you'd best bring a lot of potions, because there's no resting between fights. You can only rest at certain areas in the dungeons (rest shrines), and recover hit points when you're in the public areas.

Unless you have a static team or a big guild, you're pretty much at the mercy of finding 3-5 other random people who want to do the same quests you want to do, or that everyone is willing to compromise on. Sometimes it's easy to do, sometimes it's downright impossible.

SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.

The classes you need in a party:
Cleric
Thief

You do not need anything else. Dual class cleric and thief. Cover both those bases.

So what? No bashing open locked doors and chests? No using bandages and potions to heal? No skill to MAKE potions that a fighter can take?

Yea.... I'm not a 'pure' D&D player. I don't agree with keeping everyone in their small corner.

A lot of games do that and it's kind of annoying. Take Fallout 3 for example. There is a locked door, I have a rocket launcher. I cannot pick the lock... hmmm... seems I could lay five mines under the door and shoot them with a missile from down the hall.

No forcing doors or locks. No bandages, but there are potions you buy. There is no crafting in the game at all, you buy or find everything. It's a dungeon crawl. You crawl through dungeons. That's it, that's all, no more or less than that.
