Inf. spammers solution
You're aware that trial accounts already have limited communication abilities, right?
May only speak in Local, /HC (help channel) and Team. No Broadcast, Request, Arena, Architect Chat, use of Tells or Global channels.
May not join a SG (thus, cannot use the SG channel)
May not start a team (thus, may not recruit randomly just to spam teammates out of range of Local)
May not Email.
(Click on Paragonwiki in my Sig and enter "Trial Account" into the search)
And I-16 (Which I expect to drop before the end of the month) will allow you to filter out the majority of the current spam (Email from strangers).
As always, I welcome new, viable ideas to thwart, remove, restrict or eviscerate RMT'ers, so long as those ideas do not hinder, hamper or punish legitimate players. This idea, however is pretty much already covered. We got rid of the bulk of the tell-spam by removing tells from trial accounts.
So they moved to Email, which we will finally get a reciever-side filter for.
If you can tell what their next method will be, then let's get cracking on solving that. Otherwise, we will have to wait until they shift gears and react accordingly.
Congratulations, however, for single-handedly starting out restrictions on RMT-Spammers in WoW, and according to your other thread, bringing new innovations to Guild Wars too.

how about you read up on alot of the new features being added. then do a search for your ideas before posting them as i'm sure most of them can be found suggested already.
Doing a search for related suggestions is a good idea. Otherwise, you would never know if someone else had made the same suggestion and perhaps in greater detail.
More detail can really flesh out a suggestion, and can help you see any potential flaws in an idea.
And If you would do a search you would find rude smarky comment quota is already filled to the brim and running over.

there, now that was snarky.
I hate it when people spam influence, just throwing it everywhere. Geez! Enough already! I don't need anymore!
I think people should be allowed to promt to not accept influence from other players.
If it ain't broke set it on fire, then say it was a fault in the design.

Sharker, by the time I posted my comment you answered...
Perhaps being short and to the point, can be interpreted as rude and offensive, despite that perhaps that was not your intent.

I've noticed that in-game email appears to be the prefered method for sending Inf. sales spam over this game. And it would only make sence that Trial accounts are used to do this with as they don't have to pay for banned account.
My suggest is that only payed accounts can use public channels (that is; any channels except for Tell, Local & Team) & email. Trial accounts would be limited to just the Tell, Local & Team channels. This would force Inf. spammers to pay for an account, which is going to end up getting banned in the process; while NCSoft makes a profit from the banned accounts.
I made a similar suggestion for World of Warcraft, which got supported shortly afterwards. It stopped such spam from reaching the public channels for sometime, but they eventually started paying for accounts to spam; which ended up getting banned & Blizzard made a profit from those account in the process.
Considering you are making a profit from a company that is technically stealing from you anyways, it's a situation that game companies having the problem shouldn't pass up. While it helps the gaming companies by gaining income off of those who are stealing from them, it ends up hurting them as well & the companies doing this will eventually begin to fizzle out.
