Soloing a TF: how do you start?
The TF will only continue as long as there are still at least 2 members in the group. If the padders ALL quit the team, the TF will end. You'd need somebody to get on a "throw-away character" (one they aren't currently using), and simply log that toon out instead of quitting the team. The rest of the people can quit if they want.
That will keep the team at 2, and the other person on the TF can still use another character to do whatever they want.
Edit: (removed a statement I found to be untrue)
Seriously?
Man that would be great if we could use the new difficulty slider to allow us to start TF's solo. I was actually trying to do this last night on my MM for the Ice Mistral SF but couldn't get even 1 person to help out...
I've been playing for 4+ years and have still only ran 3 TF's... Total.
Must be the soloist in me.

one Hess, and a couple respec trials...
I run solo 80-85% of the time, and the other 15-20% I duo with a friend who
got me into this game in the first place.
Being able to try tf's solo (or even duo) would actually be a fun thing to try
with some of my L50's, so here's hoping that is true...

If you have a few people on globals ask them to fill with the condition that you will let them in the last mish to get the badge. It's a good incentive to have a toon "tied up". You get to solo your tf, they get their badge and merits. It's win win.

I used to do this as a service for my SG since I liked to play in the mornings for an hour before work. It's an easy way for them to get the badge and merits, and an easy way for you to get padders.
We don' need no stinkin' signatures!
Seeing as how I'm so busy with school right now, I'm more than willing to provide up to 6 pads for TFs. Just hit me up in a PM and I'll take care of it.
Alrighty, well all that makes sense - thanks alot guys...
Never done it but felt like trying one. Heard Posi was one of the more soloable one, so got me a couple of padders, started TF, entered first mission, then thanked the padders and told them they could exit any time. But when they did, the Taskforce ended, and I got dumped back on the streets haha...
I thought that's all you had to do: get enough to start the TF, then once it got going, others could all drop and as long as you had one remaining it'd keep going. What am I missing?
Thanks...
