Aquabats! Haven't heard them in a long time. I remember playing their stuff now and again on my radio show in college. 
I don't know that I've ever had a song inspire a character for me, but some of mine definitely have theme songs. I've always thought that Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party" fits my Dark/Dark/Dark Defender pretty well, for example.

I created a fire/kin corrupter named Uncontrollable Erg based not only on 1 Devo song (Uncontrollable Urge) - but ALL of them. His backstory was written using every one of the Devo song titles. Yes, I *do* happen to like the band ;-)
Darque Beast (my hubby) made Billion Dollar Baby after an Alice Cooper song (and dressed him just like Alice). He also made Mississippi Queen (WP/Stone Tank). A friend (@Halobender) made Ziggy Stardust (ill/rad, I think).
I didn’t have a song that inspired the creation of Turbo, but rather I found a song that become an inspiration. He was created from my my love for jogging, triathlons, the Flash and my electric blue PT Cruiser which later became the color of my costume. Turbo Time was my battle cry, which was like a Sayen turning Super...or so I like to think so!
I later heard a song sung by Ellen Tem Damme which became Turbo’s theme. You should download it, it’s really funny.

Phoenix of Syrinx was inspired by the song 2112 by rush. Well more or less I was listening to the song while creating PoS and had this idea that the Priests of the temples of Syrinx were these bad dudes and why not have a good person, and thus Phoenix of Syrinx was born. Then I made up a bunch of other stuff to complete PoS's bio.

Iron Madness Maiden was directly inspired by Can I play with Madness by Iron Maiden. But Now I'm thinking about rerolling cause I find the ill/bubble set very boring. Summon pets, make sure bubbles are up, follow team, repeat. Anyone know how a mind/kin or a mind/therm would perform?

I'm a big Aquabats fan and that CD is their best by far! After listening to lots of classic rock and metal I decided to make a musical themed toon and somehow got the name Les Paul, he's a Willpower/Axe Tanker level 41 at the moment, I should push him to 50 already. My buddy who no longer plays sadly had a toon named Flying V to duo with him.
On a side note, a number of my toons names/looks we're taken from Hentai's >.>

She didn't really have an inspiration song when I created my Sonic/NRG blaster, Maude D'Lynne, but I kind of have GnR's "Welcome to the Jungle" playing in my head when I bring her out. Although she looks more like Wendy O from the Plasmatics.

After this thread started I went into my iTunes and just listed the song titles alphabetically and found some interesting and cool names that should deffinetly be used for toons if they're not already. I narrowed it down to one per letter. (this took a while since I have 11,000+ songs)

Inspired by Cath's "Inspiration for Karl Rove Man" (and partly by "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion), are there any songs that have inspired your characters?
I have a dead rat-guy character named "Addicted to the Bone" who is inspired by the Dropkick Murphys song Good Rats.
Although I've yet to create a character from them, The Aquabats are a wealth of zany superhero songs.
