"His Imperial Majesty's Minister of Restraints and Leather" -LHF
Two naughty acronym teams / Ascension / Convenient / Artic and the Chillz / Fap / Other teams I can't remember (sorry.. mind is goin')
I'd much rather get hit with web mace than glue arrow.
Glue arrow makes me cry. |
trick arrow is a mediocre pve set at best. you guys are doing people a disservice telling them how fantastic a pvp set it is.
theres nothing a /ta can do that any other corr cant do better and still have at least some of the gimmick that /ta gets via ppp's web envelope.

TA is just lame. Every TA I've seen does the following, in this order:
Use autohit glue on nearest target.
Phase.
Fly to the top of the map or run to drones.
Wait for glue and phase to recharge.
Repeat.
I've really not seen any good players play the set, but maybe because even good players look bad when playing a zero skill set. Using one autohit ranged AoE power is kinda lol. And that's essentially the whole set. Yeah, acid is ok, but pretty much just for keeping stalkers out of hide.
Back on topic... I rolled a Son/EM the day I16 went live and it was 50 within two weeks, 40 hours to level it 1-50 (should've been 30 but I discovered a mistake with how my MA arc was set up with set me back quite a bit in terms of speed). Rolled a Fire/EM during this last double XP weekend and it's sitting at just about 35 now. Working on an Earth/Cold (part of an SG team so I'm actually PvE'ing it for the most part) right now, and then I'm probably done with PvP toons. Already have too many I need to IO and accolade.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."

Without Boost Range EM wouldn't be that popular. Hurricane is what made storm lethal, wihtout HE thermals wouldn't be that beastly in duels, and so on.

The only TA corruptor I've seen so far in RV is the guy that cloned manticore. I don't know if hes a skilled player or not, but he is a easy farm target. TA seems like its more of a pain then a serious threat. Honestly, his stunning shot is more effective then his glue arrow for getting kills IMO. He usually doesn't get the kill himself, but that stun is almost as annoying as the one from worm hole. It kind of made me wonder if it was bugged.
As far as keeping a stalker out of hide, I don't think that would be too useful for a TA corruptor unless it was WB.

Max did not describe a "good player."

lol thanks mac.
TA does annoy me, I don't deny that. But like mentioned by others, it's nothing more than an annoyance. Don't think I've been killed by a TA a single time on any toon ever. That's why I don't like them. The whole set exists just to annoy people. Other than that, they can't really do ****.
TA is one of the few remaining buff/debuff sets that serves well in a disruption role - it's supposed to be annoying, but if I were doing mostly solo PvP of course I wouldn't use a TA. It's best used for grounding targets to make them easier targets.

There are two of those /TA corr guiz, and truely, they can be one **** bad annoyance, its even worse then it is villain side cuz stalkers go pew pew
lol thanks mac.

Also, a little too much is made of glue being auto hit. Yes, that's a very useful thing but the target has to already be on the ground to fire glue arrow only the occasional meleetard is going to be standing around waiting for that to happen. Glue also has a longish recharge and not that much range. There's the option of following a jumper button mashing glue until you get lucky with the timing but that will mostly just get a TA killed by other agro.
The mainstay of the set for grounding people is entangling arrow, which needs a tohit check but has a reasonable range and very, very short recharge. After entangling, the next priority is usually to leave the target with acid arrow and then finally glue if it's available.
Me and mac teamed with him today....me on my stalker and mac on his therm. All i have to say is that playing with that TA was fun as hell. Even the bad stalkers were ASing lol. He might be a farm target now..but once he gets IOs and all the accolades and you give him a decent healer, that toon will be red side best friend. Most of the time we were killing the heroes before they could kill him.

I've teamed with his as well. Hes decent for getting kills for stalkers, but I'd rather follow a good dom any day.
A dom and TA...now that is hawtness.

About me being a farming target... no im not. Im one of the biggest threats for many heros, no for being skilled or not, because im playing 2 powersets that no ones want to play on a PvP enviroment. I learn to take advantages from both. Instead farming... i would say main target no questions.
You should see my pvt chat ... lol
