Question about the new forum and a certain setting

In the old forum it would automatically go to the lastest unread post in a thread. Now I pretty much have to scroll thru a bunch of junk I have already read. Is there a way to get it to do like the old forum used to?

When in the forum list, instead of clicking on the thread title, click on the little down-facing triangle to the left of the title. It "should" work. It's not perfect, but might be exactly what you're looking for.

Hi

or you can enter thread and then click on the white down arrow symbol named "View First Unread" which is on the left just above the date and time of OP's post.

Both arrows are missing if you have viewed all posts in the thread.

There's a problem where it doesn't correctly register the last time you visited. For example, right now it says I last visited yesterday at 8:15 pm, but if I check back in another hour or two, it will still say that even though I am on right now..

If you don't log off and log back in, or use the "Mark Forums Read" feature, the timestamp doesn't seem to act right, but I use it religiously and no longer have a problem. Others still seem to have issues even after marking forums as read.

YMMV
