I think SD/Fire would be a better farmer. capped defense is easy to achieve and the constant damage buff is great.

wp/fire for farming tank would be good. Build for +def and +hp, get tough/weave /combat jumping and steadfast unique and you should be very solid after 22. WP is easy to survive most mobs that do not do -def mixed with non s/l damage (that and boss/AVs in multiples tend to hurt).
WP is easy mode with just a few power picks and some additional slotting.

Shield/Elec is startlingly effective; I've a level bumped 50 on Test and it's pretty incredible. You have the equivalent of TWO shield charges available every other spawn not to mention all the AOE from the Electric secondary.
It's not as fast a killer as my 50 BS/Shield scrapper but the scrapper is a fully IO'd out build and the SD/Elec tank is on SO's. I'm currently leveling a SD/Fire on live and I'm considering rerolling as a SD/Elec once i-16 goes live.

I have a SD/Fire/Pyre and he's insanely fast (to be fair he is IO'd, not completely but enough that the remaining bonuses will be gravy). So I'll put my vote in for that combo.
WP/Electric would be good, unless the KB from the attacks becomes and issue. WP's regen field is based off of goons in close combat, if they're out of range you've lost your regen buff. I think at least two of ElecM's AoE's are KB...so, I'd look into that combo before building one.
SD/Electric would be good as others have stated due to it's "double boom". I imagine not many mobs will be standing after that combo so KB might not be as much of an issue.
Elect/Elect seems like a good combo. Looks like it will help keep your End bar full, and provide decent AoE. Knocking goons around and out your Lightning Field won't be as much of and issue as it's a resist build and doesn't rely goons in close combat for buffs (as with Invuln and WP) Add in Tough and I think you'll end up around 80% Smash/Lethal/Energy resistant. Any amount of defense you add will only improve your survivability. Not sure how fast an farmer it would be but with Lightning Reflexes and Hasten I'd imagine damage output would be good.
I was thinking Invul/Elect would be a good combo, but might not be the AoE monster you want for farming. And as stated earlier KB could become an issue, depending on the build.
Eltric/Fire Melee could be a good combo too and perhaps more AoE friendly.

now that i think about it fire or electric armor would be better for farming than wp due to having a damage aura, however they would require more IOs to be as survivable.
Fire Sword Circle + Breath of Fire + Combustion vs Lightning Rod + Jacobs Ladder + Thunder Strike, I'm pretty sure fire will win the damage over time war but LR is a stronger alpha strike.

Now that we are in open beta I wanted to ask you all what would be some good farming builds for a tanker. I was thinking wp/elec or wp/fire. I already got wp/fire now but I am not sure how much better elec would be against critters in the end game with stupidly crazy smashing lethal resists. Help me build the most survivable wp/elec or wp/fire.
