The Doctor is In!
Well, to be honest Doc the best teams most people get are on the hero side of things now a days. Redside is bleak, but still populated, you just need to know where to look. IF you're into farms for xp, then AE is your thing, it's hard to find an AE group only interested in doing story arcs, unless led by the creators.
Hamibound is pretty much empty and hasn't had a topic update since 07/08 (It's been awhile)
And people still flock to pinbadges for task forces and strike forces.
Alot of the regs are still here, alot of have moved on to Virtue for the roleplay/pvp, but as TMNT showed, all it takes is a little organization and you can get pretty much anyone to show up as long as it's announced far enough in advance, and marketed pretty well.
Don't give up right away on Villains if you find it empty, we're still around, and others like yourself are coming back from CO:Beta with a bad taste left in their mouths, with COH to bring back the good taste of what a Comic MMO is all about.
I will give it a run, if it is empty... I can always change servers LOL!
I can assure you nothing has changed since you left.
welcome back...agreed..check those global channels for teams and you'll be back into the swing of things in no time.
Had an oppurtunity to run with a good group in an AE mission last night. Thank you to all those involved. Special thanks to Dman for taking the brunt of the damage all night.
Only bad thing that happened was when some guy joined us and started crying foul when he saw there were two stalkers in the group. He left after lecturing the one corrupter in our group who was not a Kin, I presume that meant Kinetics. We all resolved ourselves that there is more than one way to play the game and went back to playing, but I found his comments amusing and disturbing at the same time. Hopefully he is not the norm in the game (and I doubt he is).
Otherwise, enjoyed myself on my first full night back. Friends joining with me, so look for Baptized By Bullets supergroup, some of us are completely new to the game, so be patient with them.
Old player, saying hello to Pinnacle!
Just wanted to post a hello thread as I just finished playing my last of CO last night. For those who enjoyed the HERO game system's Champions, do not expect it to be a good example of what HERO games created. It has poor graphics (and I collect comics after 30+ years, so I usually like that type of graphical content), some customization (if you consider color changing skills customization, oh... well that and you can pair powers together that make little to no sense), and really a poor questing/mission system (story lines are poor, I did not bother reading them after the first few). The good news is the poor experience with CO led me back to CoX to reup my account. Therefore I am hoping to play with you all, both in pve and pvp. I hope players who never made it to 50 are still welcome here. I noticed a slight learning curve just running around beating up on street thugs last night, not like I died, but I was still trying to remember what all my abilities were. I will be playing a Stalker on the villian side, moved him over to this server as it looked populated and friendly from my first messages. Doctor Genocide is alive! See you on the inside. |
Are you actual Doctor? I have medical questions.
I hereby verify Boxxy is a troll.
@Skye McCloud
yeah...he is jsut a crybaby
Redside farmers are spoiled by what they think it should be vs what it really ends up being, as Blueside farming have it so easy. Differences
1: Where there's only 1 brute on at a time who's willing (joking but still sometimes the truth) there's 100 tanks (or someone who has a tank alt)
2: Kinetics Kinetics everywhere hero side, not many red side. (I had a group with a 48 Fire/Kin Corr without FS how crazy is that?!)
3: You need to remember the names or get the globals of the great redside players, as they're few and far between.
4: Without Direct damage, most feel the Masterminds don't bring the farm love (but they can do just fine if they do the targeting for their pets)
5: Stalkers take too long for recharge, and without a placate up may not do that well with groups (I find that in boss farms, they can be quite fast in taking down 1 or 2 bosses at a time before needing to escape to re-hide)
6: Ignore all the rules, find a group that's awesome (And has kinetics for double speed boost awesome) and just enjoy the game, also bring back your friends for a free month....NOW!
DrGenocide, You should create Active Build 2 on your stalker and choose only pool powers and other useless powers so that when you join a horrible team who won't STFU you can leave the mission, switch to active build 2, come back (takes like 30 seconds) and then start teaming with them.
And don't put any enhancements in the slots. It isn't like a respec is hard to do, I'm sure you can waste a respec or five.
that feels like alot of work
no, but your relatives are all here to call dibs on your belongings you're that close
welcome back Dr.Genocide. if you haven't yet, roll a hero and play blueside on Pinnacle. Hell, that's advice for all servers. Red and blue are differnet beasts on most servers, give each a whirl... anyhoo, Blueside Pinnacle is substantial, lots of good players still around and some OGs re-upping so things look good.
Enjoy yourself. Be seeing you.
