Social Group: Cross-Server Base Tours

A reminder (and a teaser) for anyone who wants to tour the Spring Knights base tomorrow. Tour begins at 930p Eastern on Tuesday, 3 Nov, and the assembly point to begin the tour is going to be the base portal in Galaxy City on Virtue.

And here's an overview screenshot of what the Spring Knights base looked like this morning:


For those who are curious, the base has completed buildout of all of its functional items. At this point, it's just a matter of collecting enough prestige to complete the decorations. The tech workshop remains on the "to do" list, as does completing the hangar in the power room ... and of course the big granddaddy of all decorative items, the 8x8 decorative room in the bottom left corner.

I will try and be there. I love looking at other bases. I would also like to show off one of my bases the other is no where near ready to show off. I will post a time later this week. I am on Triumph and I have no problem meeting in Galaxy.

Thanks for coming out last night Tyrak. Glad you enjoyed the tour and learned a little bit about lighting and how to do 3 level rooms. Looking forward to seeing your screenshots.

Sidhe_Blade ... sorry you couldn't make it. Waited until 940p for you to show, and then we went inside to start the tour.

Doh, hadn't been on the forums for a few days, sorry I missed out.

Redlynne has an excellent sense of style and is expert with lighting - touring her base and getting her explanations is going to save me a fair amount of time as I play around with lighting. Too bad no one else could make it.

So, looks like Sidhe_Blade has volunteered to be next! Keep an eye out for the time, Triumph blueside, Galaxy City.

Well, it's a bit short notice, but I'm giving another tour (set up by PM with TerraShock) here in less than an hour at 9pm eastern. Meeting point is again the Galaxy portal on blueside Virtue. Sidhe_Blade, aside from the tour tonight, I'm not going to have any time free to do another one of these until at least friday next week. I need to get cracking on picking up my ToT costumes if I'm going to get the badges on all of my existing characters ... and I've got 3 of them left to complete (and limited opportunities to do so before midnight tuesday). Sorry.

Beautiful base. Really nice ideas there.

I'm amused that you posted screenshots that seemingly conceal more than they reveal about the base.
Then again, like I said at the time ... with screenshots like this my subconscious urge is to rotate the camera angle so as to reveal things that I either know are just out of frame, or hidden behind some foreground object (the "planet" in the medical room for example).

I'm also ... delighted ... that you didn't post a spoiler of the control room, so that any later vistors who want to tour can get the full impact upon seeing it at the time of the tour.

Well, at this point there seems to be enough interest in an encore tour of the Spring Knights base that I might as well see about putting one on this friday (the 13th) starting at 900p at the base portal in Galaxy City on Virtue. That's the absolute earliest I could possibly do another one of these (at all).

On the flipside, I managed to find enough prestige to "verticalize" the tech workshop room ... so even people who have already been on a tour will at least have one new thing to see if they come back. I'll post another base overview preview pic later this week.

Hello all long time lurker in this forum first time poster.
I was hoping to do an open house of sorts this Saturday to get some feed back on my base build now that it is wrapping up. It will be a bit of a sneak preview before the pics hit the forums on Monday. Many of my SG mates say its one of the best bases that they have ever seen but they could just be kissing up so I would love some honest criticism from an outside source. I will be on Liberty Server from 10am to 3pm if any base builders could come and share some knowledge with me I would appreciate it. If you would like a private tour just PM Me and we can work out a time.

I have to admire the amount of work that have gone into the rooms. Even the one that is 'in progress' is incredibly detailed.
