Ok, I upgraded from a refub Hp laptop with Windows Vista 32bit Service pack 1 who ran CoH without rubberbanding, or major lag spikes.

The new PC is an ibuypower machine with windows vista 64bit service pack 1, AMD Phenom 9950 quad core on a Asus board, Zotac video card with Nvida Geforce 9800 GT, 4 gig of ram, Hard Drive of 500gig, and a 700wat Power supply.

1st try to play the game: No picture, black screen, but I could hear the entrence music and me typing my user name.

my solution: Reinstalled the driver disk for the GFX card.

2nd try to play the game: Major rubberanding, and about an hour into playing, white screen with pop up "The NVIDIA OpenGL Driver encounted an un recoverable error and must clost the application."

my solution: Went to Nvida website and installed latest drivers.

3rd try to play CoH: Still major rubberbanding, used command "/netgraph 1" while in game and not only saw a bunch of red spikes, but everytime I jump into a fight it went totally red, not a hint of green till I stopped pressing keys on the keyboard.

I'm out of solutions

I was thinknig it could be internet but it shouldn't be if the laptop could run it fine.

Could use help here please leave thoughts or solutions or what ever to help. thankyou

Vista SP1: You really, really should get SP2.

It helps a lot with video stability, I had the same FX errors with SP1, went away completly with SP2.

I had problems with the network connectivity too, was a problem with the network drivers. I had to upgrade them, because the autosensing was causing problems with small hickups.

Have you tried the following thread for answers?
jg0001's NVIDIA Settings for Quality (ver2)

I adjusted all the setting in the OP guide, and still having the same issues

ok, now running SP2. But how do I go about updating my network drivers...I don't even know where to find them

Since I guess your network adapters are onboard (the mainboard), you may have to check the Asus webpage.

But first try, if maybe everything already runs smooth with Service Pack 2.

No luck, still having the rubberbanding. and probably the network drivers are on the asus card, I'll hit up their website.

Ty. If you or anyone has other Ideas on how I can fix it then send them my way. the service pack 2 helped out alot with the stabilization though.

You might want to try some older drivers. I honestly thought CoX wasn't even compatible with the newer Nvidia ones. I'm currently having to use 185.81 on Windows 7, but you might want to look into 185.85. Also, I've heard good things about the 182.50 drivers but they weren't compatible with my system.

You can go here to find the older drivers. You also may want to look into some driver cleaning software if using older drivers doesn't fix your problem. You can get Driver Sweeper here, which hasn't failed me yet.

Edit: It sounds like more of a connection thing, so you might want to ignore the whole "try older video drivers." Does this happen on every server? I'd check if your lag is okay on Protector or something.

Some of us are having these issues with East Coast servers, specifically. It appears to be a connection somewhere between our ISPs and the CoH servers. It might not be your computer. If you're playing on East Coast servers, you might try a West Coast server, just to see if that "fixes" the problem.

hmm, Cause I play on pinnacle which I believe is an east coast server. How long have these connection bugs with servers been going on?

You can create a character on Virtue, for example, and see if there are improvements. Virtue is not an east coast server. Since you bought the computer from ibuypower, I think you should have a detailed specification of all the components that you ordered. For the motherboard, you just need to know what the chipset is, then you can download the corresponding driver.

Odds are they are trying to work with ISPs to find the offending routers and get the issues corrected. Unfortunately if it is out on the Net, that could take a while.

It really depends on if it is a server problem or a route problem. If it's a server problem then yes they are going to fix it. If it's somewhere along the route then no they aren't going to fix it. You'll have to wait till whatever system is messing up the connection is fixed.
