New Playing Style of Troller Kins?
I use a set of bind from the numpad:
ctrl+numpad1 team_select 1 ctrl+numpad2 team_select 2 ctrl+numpad3 team_select 3 ctrl+numpad4 team_select 4 ctrl+numpad5 team_select 5 ctrl+numpad6 team_select 6 ctrl+numpad7 team_select 7 ctrl+numpad8 team_select 8 ctrl+numpadenter powexec_name Speed Boost ctrl+add powexec_name Increase Density |
I use /bind numpad1 teamselect 1$$"powexecname speed boost" etc so I can double tap the numpad key and speed boost that team member.
And use /bind shift+numpad1 teamselect 1$$"powexecname increase density"
Sometimes I double SB someone, but I can live with that
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
I must really be the odd man out here. I don't even have Speed Boost on my lone /Kin controller. I'm not here to pamper my team mates. I'm here to defeat the bad guys. SB, although very nice, can be done without. Just like Stamina.
See? I'm very ood.
There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"
More than just the end recovery, SB is incredibly useful for its +Recharge so Transfusion isn't really a replacement for it.

I think my head was just in the place that with the toon I mentioned I had been playing in a themed 'Knights' team and part of the make up of having a kin was to help with the End problems that some scrappers/tanks have pre-stamina if they are toggle heavy.
I think I will have to figure out a way to optimise the way I SB. I would try the numpad method but I'm left handed so its easier for me to have the numpad set up in a different way.
As long as the kin/ or /kin uses Fulcrum Shift, I'm happy. Everything else is just gravy. Also, if you need speed boost, you're a crappy player.
My understanding of transference and transfusion is that it withdraws end and health from the target and redistributes it to your teammates. In addition, those two powers also slows the target's regeneration. SB always, although I find many people don't like it. Not using FS with tanks and scrappers in melee range, in an AV fight on a STF. I don't get it Why choose kin as a secondary?

If you haven't joined a global channel, you're not really looking for team.

And the only one of the two that has a regen debuff is Transfusion (the "heal" power), not Transference. I find that many Kins don't realize this valuable debuff, which IMHO should always be spammed on tougher AVs/Heroes (especially if there isn't a dedicated debuffer on the team, such as a Rad).
When in doubt, the wiki is your friend: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Transference#Transference.

After reading through this thread, I kinda feel like the odd man out. I love playing my troler and protecting my teammates. I found it to be an easy decision after looking through all the ATs and their abilities. I knew instantly that I wanted to create a controler for my first hero. I get a high off of saving that teammate from the brink of death - bringing back to life the vital tanker who is laying dead at the feet of a dozen enemy goons. I know that im not scoring all the XP that I could, but I know that I am doing my team a great service and that is all the satisfaction I need. I felt the same way playing Diablo on the playstation 10 years ago. After my first week of playing this game, I'm already seeing alot of people who have lost sight of why they play RP games like this.

I have a kin defender that I play sometimes and on that I am a buffer/debuffer, I think I have three secondary attacks one of which is a stun, my epic attack is a sleep. It is a purely team orientated character and works well in teams. But when playing a controller I play a controller not a defender my buffs are secondary to my purpose.
edit:
The benefits of a kin on the team... (Admittedly this one is a team of three fire/kins and I think at this point I have 6 speed boosts stacked on each character).
Working on a Emp/Sonic Defender trio now... think they'll be like above from about level 33 onwards.
I'm too uncoordinated to take my right hand off my mouse and hit numpad keys, so I use the following bind:
/bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Speed Boost
then I can click on a teammate in the team window, hold shift and click again to SB them. Just march right down the team list (skipping myself of course).
Whatever works for you!
We don' need no stinkin' signatures!
I'd say that 80% of the time I'm feeling the desire to aid my team in a Heroic way - it just fits with why I play this game in the first place, and simply CAN'T play CoV (have tried many times, never made it past mid-20s on any Vill).
I have buff-heavy Defenders and Controllers - no Scraps or Tanks - and for that other 20% of the time?
I feel like blowin' **** up - bad day at work, bad commute, fight with the gf, whatever - and then it's one of my Blasters!
