Solo Fire/kin and Damage
I recently hit 50 with my fire/kin/stone and ive noticed that when im farming 52s the imps are, imo, useless. if they draw any aggro at all the mobs just destroy them. My ST damage comes from seismic smash but Most of my AoE comes from fissure. that and spamming fire cages at the damage cap takes stuff down pretty quickly.
Excluding epics, a Fire/Kin's number one damage dealer is Hot Feet. Contained, FS capped Hot Feet is significant damage.
So I've been looking at the builds for "farming" Fire/kin controllers and I have been trying to figure out just what power they use to uctually do damage to the enemies.
The only really damaging power I typically see is Seismic Smash, well that and the imps. The only other thing I see is Hot Feet and even with FS maxing it out the DoT would take forever to kill off an Lt or Boss. Are the Imps doing the bulk of the killing for a soloing controller (I would think that bosses would murder the pets) or am I missing something? |
If you mean why you don't see many "attacks" slotted for damage? well fulcrum puts you at the cap really easily (even post i16 ). It is one of the major advantages of playing a /kin controller; they can slot for max control and still do capped damage.

You forgot Fissure (since you are talking about the Earth Epic). Fissure is great AoE damage.

Seismic Smash I just use to finish off the occasional mob. Fire Cages does about 1/4 the damage of Fissure I find, which isn't bad, but not worth worrying about much.
it's more hotfeet+fire cages+fissure+seismic smash=big time damage and in the containment and stritigic application of both your holds and stunns. the basic attack chain looks something like flashfire>firecages>move into melee for hotfeet>fulcrum shift>then either another application of fire cages or in my case throwing out cinders and usually everything is most the way gone....and I've slotted my attacks for damage....and I didn't skimp on the IO's. so your not looking at any one power doing the brunt of the damage but the conglameration of them all...with hotfeet kicking the most a$$
