I slotted a [Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control: Chance for Build Up] IO in Invincibility

Was that dumb?

I haven't noticed it going off, yet. Does the proc have a chance to go off periodically, or only when I first fire up the toggle?

As I recall, it requires a foe in invincibility's range to go off, and even then the chance to activate only occurs once every ten seconds.

It's not so much that invincibility is a bad place for it, it's just that there is no good place for it ouside of blinding feint and follow up, which aren't exactly available to most characters.

No it wasn't dumb. I slot it in all my Invuln toons.

It also doesn't need a foe in range to proc.

Having said that, you won't notice a huge impact ... just a nice surprise every so often (worth the one slot though imo).

Does the proc have a visual cue?

That's one of the few good powers to use that slot in. (The only other character I have that button slotted in is an Arch/Dev blaster, in her Targetting Drone.)

Having a chance for build up in a toggle you'll be running anyways is better than having one in a Build Up power that's only going to be active for ten seconds every minute or so.

It's not something I would do personally. I use that IO in a Build Up type power with entire Gaussian set 6 slotted for the defense bonus the set offers.

Not that I've seen.

If you stare at your combat log you'll see it go off periodically.

You can also see it proc on the power meters (Powers > Statistics).

Would it be dumb to slot it in the Super Strength power "Rage"?

And does it have a chance to go off only when the power is activated, or at regular intervals during the Rage's duration?

If you put it in Rage, then yes, it would only have a chance to proc when you activated Rage.

It's not worth the slot anywhere by itself. It's good to use to get the 6th set bonus on a toon you're trying to soft cap defense. On an invul/ss, yes I'd put it in rage with the other 5 gaussians to get the defense bonuses from that set which are significant.

No it wouldn't be dumb, but in this instance assumably you'd be doing it for the set bonuses using 6/6 of Gaussian's. Slotting just the proc into Rage wouldn't really impact your character all that much (less so then slotting it in Invince at any rate).

The proc in Rage would only have a chance to occur when Rage was activated.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. (And yeah, I'll probably wait a bit before slotting it. The other parts of the set will go in there first.)
