Your unbeatable team?
Well, a few kin corrs do HUGE DPS coupled with any other high damage toon.
4 fire or ice kin corrs with
4 stone armour foot stomping fulcrum shifted speed boosted monsters(=brutes) are rather awesome at killing both big mobs of minions as well as any AV or even any GROUP of AVs.
Actually, at lvl 50 you could have 8 ice/kin corrs pretty much nuking anything... 8 (well 7+siphon speed+hasten) sets of speed boosts will keep them nuking even AVs. Let them cheat by eating some blue's and it's rather silly to watch. Not a farmer's choise though since they're rather high maintenance!

For example, no matter how good the players are, a team entirely composed of team-build empaths is going to be a trifle dull as you zoom around gradually nibbling monsters to death.

mmmmm... tempting! Both RA's x8 with a generous lashing of Fortitude. As long as they had at least a few attacks between them, they could maybe do a bit more than nibble?
Might be fun to try!

Neither RA boosts damage output (assuming you have no endurance problems, and if you have endurance problems on a team-build empath at the level when you have both RAs, something is wrong). Fortitude provides a nice percentage boost to damage - what a shame that five-quarters times diddly is still diddly (same goes for Assault).
Team-built empaths tend to be woefully short on attacks at all but the highest levels because there are no lousy powers in empathy. Even skipping Absorb Pain only squeezes out a second attack. Fortitude's a nice buff, but it works on your existing damage output...
I think we're also forgetting that Controllers can pick up Indomitable Will from the PSI Mastery Ancillary set. That provides decent mez protection.
Anyway,
My un-beatable team:
.Night Widow
.Night Widow
.Crab Spider
.Crab Spider
.Fortunata
.Fortunata
.Bane Spider
.Bane Spider
That would provide a moderate amount of debuffs, provide both good ST and AoE damage, good mez, some pets and a lot of tactical training powers combined with the leadership pool!
That would be an awesome team!
Eight Sonic/Rad Defenders! All with the Leadership pool!
They'd wipe through mobs in seconds.
If they can solo Rikti Plyons in under 5 minutes, and solo Lusca and every other GM, can you imagine the power of eight?
8 crab spiders. Arachnos SWAT squad Im not kidding, all with pets of some sort and all the AoEs, theres very few things that Crabs can't munch their way though. All those stacked team buffs...hmmm. Oh, and an onslaught of Venom and frag grenades, coupled with Suppression. Add Omega Bombs into the mix and you really are onto a winner
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

You mean Radiation Emission/Sonic blast? Bit lacking in AoE tbh. And where do the res buffs come from? In my opinion if they got caught off guard with a really harsh ambush they'd probably wipe tbh, or at least a lot higher chance of doing so than something with targeted heals and resist/defense/both buffs.

Oh, just got a very good GR question in there:
Will a "reformed" villain be able to pick a hero ancil. pool instead of the patrons? That would make for some interesting choises for an "unbeatable" team.
That reminds me, still haven't respecced ANY alt since they updated the patron powers and gave us some more choises. lol
Me and 7 fillers.

Seriously, CoH is made to be played with just about any AT combination. It usually comes down to the player, not what they play.

But that doesn't mean there aren't some good combinations - and some lousy ones, for all that the game is (thankfully) much less rigid about team makeup than hem-hem a certain other game with a tank/heal/DPS trinity.
For example, no matter how good the players are, a team entirely composed of team-build empaths is going to be a trifle dull as you zoom around gradually nibbling monsters to death.
My top pick would be a kinetics defender and seven en/en blappers. :-)
