Announcing: CityScoop EU!
I'm in the same both as fish, I never got a reply when I contacted you about this. What's the deal?
Pointless to say as the others have mentioned. any word?
I still think it'd be better to have one single Scoop for the whole game - news organizations have reporters all over the world, so the Scoop can too

I'd be interested in coming on board if there's still space on the team.
I used to write and edit a local magazine for about two years so I'd like to think I have something to contribute. Article writing's my forte, but I could fill a role just about anywhere.
I'm the sort of hack that can write to order; give me a spec on what needs to be done, a word count and a deadline and I'll pretty much get it sent to you on time.

Do you think it might be a good idea now to have a combined version for America and Europe, as the forums are going to be merged soon?

We are currently trying to figure out how to get the Scoop working with the new forums though.
I think that CityScoop EU and US will always be affiliated to each other, as we share the name, and share the same ideology's in a sense.
Although I think that in order for both CityScoops to function efficiently, it would be wise to keep both teams separate, and both of the news releases separate, Though we can obviously communicate for tips, and other thing's in the future. The CityScoop US Leader has been amazing in terms of help and friendliness towards the idea of CityScoop EU, And forever grateful for that. But yes, we will consider to be separate for now. |
* Edit:
In fact, I said as much back in June.

good idea? bad idea?
should or shouldn't we?
I still see absolutely no reason why there can't be a single Scoop for the whole game, with contributions from players no matter where they play.

i'd like to know what you guys think of CityScoop EU?
good idea? bad idea? should or shouldn't we? |
I not going to say it's a bad idea to keep the EU version separate, if only because that'd seem awfully self-serving. From prior discussions with him, however, I don't believe either Snow_Globe or I (the editors-in-chief of the US CS) quite understand why the EU CS leader is desirous of keeping it separate.
I think both Snow_Globe and I would welcome any EU contributors who wanted to talk with us - we're already international, since we've got members from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and (of course) the US.
Either way, the new boards are... voracious... when it comes to eating the layout for the US Scoop (as the back issues can attest; they didn't look that bad when they were published!) and we're trying to figure out a solution before we publish the issue we presently have proofed and pending layout. If the EU Scoop chooses to stay separate, we're more than happy to talk things over with their folks and see if together we can come up with a solution.
Anyone interested in the US Scoop is welcome to PM me (Cende) with comments and questions. You may also mail Snow_Globe, but he's a little swamped with school right now, so I try not to volunteer him much.
