Whatever happened to the messageboard merge?

it's totally unlikely that the devs would actually be working, or have a strategy bulit around the release of possible competitor MMOs, or that NCSoft would even want them to do this.

I think it's hugely ironic that CoH now has a competitor's branding actually as part of it's content.

Given that they build the game... not ironic at all...

The Paragon Studios branding or some In-Character/RP Pocket D branding need to go back up on the banner outside the Talos Pocket D entrance - either that or remove the blank banner. As well as being added alongside the Cryptic Studios logo on the Loading screen.

Personally, I'm sick and tired of all the "soon" rubbish, and no longer expect ANYthing from NC.

So just what exactly do you think the 3-times-as-large dev team are doing right now?
Jay previously made costume parts and new NPCs at the same time while working on his own, so obviously with an assistant now he's only capable of making a few costume parts for a booster pack.
BAB used to work alone too - but he's got at least one assistant in the animation department now - so I guess NCSoft really wanted to make sure that /e cardtrick emote looked just right?
War Witch - who does zone NPC text and placement - is certainly blackmailing NSCSoft to keep her job, as she's had next to no work in the previous two Issues.
And NCSoft, well aware of the two new superhero MMOs on the way, rehired Sean "Manticore" Fish - the CoH story/lore guru - right after they bought the game, because they thought it'd be cool for him to hang out with his old work team again?
And apparently NCSOft are still looking to hire more for the dev team - just to help out the economy, of course.
So now that the MA is released - quite obviously the last thing left on their "to do" list - they call all kick back with soda or coffee and fully enjoy their renamed studio while NCSoft donates even more cash to them.
Because it's totally unlikely that the devs would actually be working, or have a strategy bulit around the release of possible competitor MMOs, or that NCSoft would even want them to do this.

Ok. Fair points. But, going on that, I15 will have a lot of bad/rushed/improv work to eclipse.

And drop some of that Golden fury on some of the cretins around the board, that might show that 'Soon' isnt an impossibility ^^

"Fury"? I'm not a Brute
And I wasn't mad at anyone when I wrote that - I was being sarcastic, because it was so silly to expect "nothing" from NCSoft when we're getting close to a very important time period for them

See, now you're just trying to put words into my mouth.

I never said that NC weren't doing SOMEthing. I just said I'm sick of them constantly saying "soon", when "soon" NEVER materialises.

Fix the forum software? "Soon"
City Vault? "Soon"
More official content? "Soon"

In most reasonable people's books, "soon" would normally equate to within a couple of months AT THE MOST.

I'm sure much of it WILL eventually turn up (except the City Vault, but I have my own reasons for being sure it's gone forever). But if it's not "soon", I won't be here to see it.

I think the best example of "Soon" has got to be the task force that was removed from faultline sometime in beta. It was dubbed "returning soon" and never reappeared. Now that the zone has been renovated, I don't think it is due for a reappearance.

And what about the Calvin Scott TF that Posi wanted to bring back in Ouroboros? What about that then?

By the way GG, about time you made a nice long post like that. The point you're missing is that as FFM said the devs are probably doing something; yet we're long overdue the stuff coming 'soon'.

Think about it. City Vault, over a year. No info other than denying the technical problems with it. New forum software, must've been about a year too. Last we got is "we're very close to finishing it". That was back in 2008. In-game canon, well we've sorta been waiting since I10 for some real in-game canon that MAKES SENSE (looks at Cimerora with an evil eye). Sorry, but Cimerora doesn't count, as it didn't really affect the main story, other than Romulus is some Nictus god (ahhh! non-white spoilers!).

WOOOO!!!

Go GG, Go GG!

But I have to say, that whilst I agree with GG, if I15 turns out to be another case of, "We didn't have enough time to do all the story advancement we wanted, that's now I16, BUT LOOK AT THE BIG SHINY THING, FORGET THAT, YOU HAVE NEW SHINY, I shall be joining the ranks of those leaving for greener pastures.

Sorry, but that's the price paid for trust these days, whilst I believe great things are on the horizon, I'd like to know how long I have to travel to get to them.
