Server Instability.
Yup, repeated mapsevers, and also a faint white line in zones on the edge of my "perception", at all times in every direction. Also sometimes team members heads/shoulders mostly disappear leaving black spikeyness for a few seconds. Never happened before. *sigh*
Defiant EU
Quaver: Kinetics/Sonic Defender
Semiquaver: Sonic/Kinetics Corruptor
We very nearly wiped several times on a Statesman Task Force team due to repeated mapservers earlier on, and I'm just off a Shadow Shard TF team that was also plagued with lag (not mapservers, but power lag).
Neither one produced anything odd on the netgraph, though we had a few D/Cs on the STF team (including one just as we got Lord Recluse to 5%. On the plus side I discovered that my Sonic Blaster can tank the Flier...)
So whose turn is it to change the hamster this time?
Lots of mapserver errors in the last couple of days, mainly on MA missions - testing or playing. Also temporarily losing capes when exiting MA editor - what's that about???
Real problems for me on Defiant last night, my sg had about 30 players on and most of us were teaming on MA missions. At about 9.00 half the players from the sg all dc'd/crashed at the same time and listening to the local chat around me it seems as if this happened to a fair number of players. Many of the players had difficulties getting back on for a while...perhaps an extra hamster is needed?

I get the impression they have several hundred trainers with whips, but only one rather elderly hamster.

Well hopefully this will be solved soon because the mapservers dont as much bother me as crashing every half an hour does. To make it worse then it wants to verify everything which takes a further 20 minutes!
@FurYxUK
Had some crispy DC fun on ITF recently after I:MA.
Lag canyon throughout the ITF from mission one to the finale. Admittedly some of it was actually rather fun, but I fear the dreaded EU servers can't take the pressure, captain [SIC]...
Everyona (well, too many) hanging out at the MA, uploading/downloading mission data might just be too much with what might be some serious server memory leaks??? Sometimes I just think they need to restart the f'in servers every morning to keep the game healthy, because usually it's running so wonderfully smooth if you play right after some maintenance.
Really REALLY bad after this afternoons maintinence:
Before: Not that much trouble, crashed to desktop just once the whole week.
After: Dc's, hangs, rubberbanding, lag, text lag, power lag, and crashed to the desktop twice. ALL that in less that 3 hours after logging back on after maintience!!
If the broadband providers are causing these problems then move the physical servers to a completly different place where the service is better.
*edit* and AGAIN!
I didn't have this problem last night....
i seem to have teh game crash on me at least three times a day since I14 launch. it has crash 3 times in the last 2 hours.
1. when i got home and started the game. it crashed when i had just finished loading.
2. when entering a MA mission
3. right after selecting the toon to load
and now i'm waiting to load a mission (has been the entire time while writing this reply)
JB out!
P.S. GET THIS FIXED ASAP!!!
Update!
still loading same mission...
loading bar has moved about 2 millimeters since last post...
JB out!
*sigh*
it crashed... i never got in the mission.
i restarted the game and it crashed while loading...
when i finally got back online i recieved a gmotd saying something about problems with bases
in the last two hours i've spend more time loading, verifying, crashing, than actually playing... it's not funny any more. get this fixed and leave the bases alone! game stability is more important than bases!
JB out!
Well for me anyway. Seems that I am mapping more than ever and DCing more than ever. I got used to DCs at WW when I do it on a character the first time and the occasional map at certain points but these days there is more of them. Anyone else find this?
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
