Can you farm with a level 1? HELP please :)

I am not a farmer and never will be and thats my choice and if you want to power level or farm to level 20 then thats your choice but you do miss some very good content if you choose the right contacts as in Dr Vaz and the Spelunker badge for a couple of examples. I agree though its not a good idea to farm your first character as you don't get the feel of the game it just passes you by like you are watching from a train window, you see everything but your not out there being involved. When I first started playing this game it took me 18 months to get my first 50 now it can take less than 3 months to do the same content more or less so I really don't think that there is any point to farming any more but if farming is the way some players then want to play then thats thier choice.
I recently started a new fire rad/kin corruptor team on defiant. Just playing 2 days/week for a few hours and we got to level 20 in no time. As long as there's teams levelling is fast and not nearly as boring as PLing. On villains I do tend to see a problem finding teams though. I'd rather get "PLd" in an 8 man lvl 50 team than play solo/duo in a "my level" team any day.
...but yet again. Just let people do what they wanna do as long as they don't mess up your game (like the ones asking you to pl them, asking why? when you say no, and then just goes on and on and on...)

The legacy of the 8 man team haunts CoH. It's my firm belief that WoW got this (among many other things) right. 5-man is just right.
As for soloing, it's okay, and gives you time to read missions, which is something I really enjoy. Sadly, teams tend to have at least on impatient kid in them - and I'm as guilty as any other these days, since it's what I've come to expect in group play, I rush through without reading.

But isn't running some sort of fire/kin or fire/rad superteam almost as bad as PLing. You'd never catch me doing that.

As for 8 man teams, yeah it's a bad thing, but for the opposite reason!!! I was one of those that got very excited about Cathedral of Pain, a possible 16 man raid, WOW (pun intended)!!! Alas, we know what happened even if the devs are trying hard to make us forget CoP was ever in the game, not to mention those base raids.
And with ouroboros is effect, and now MA, you only need a friend or second account to powerlevel really. The last 1-5 run I did, I realized it wasn't too hard to actually do it within 14 days all alone with my two accounts. It would be madly boring, but quite easy. I might have done it if there had been anything to do after that, except roll 4 more alts, then 2 more alts, but there isn't.
...so now I'm grinding booooring stories in the MA to get stupid "epic" MA badges because there isn't much else to do except perhaps follow London's orders and make my own off-line MA editor, but I haven't programmed for real for a few years so the idea isn't too exciting. ...but yes, it is tempting me. I will at least fiddle a bit with the "text files" to see if you can do some things the in-game editor won't allow!

You just said that they're doing something wrong... not that they were taking too long a time - so it was obvious, given the thread is about farming, that you thought 1 to 5 in 2 weeks was evil farming and so too quick...

Couldnt have said it better. My thoughts exactly. PLing leads to annoying noob lvl50s. I get my 12 month vet badge this weekend and have 4 lvl50s which had minimal PLing (a few lvls each here and there) and I still feel like there is so much I dont know

From what I know, MA doesn't award defeat badges, or the achievement badges such as damage taken, etc. If you have any suspicions, just check their badges for badges which a normal person would have gained in their career. :3

MA doesn't tend to award the 'normal' badges - but that just means that before long you won't be able to use badges as a guide to whether the character may have been PL'd or not as characters doing 1-50 without PL but using the MA will have very few badges.
