How many CoX players does it take to change ...
And
q : How many devs does it take to change a lightbulb ?
a : Only one, but it will be changed in a series of releases over a period of a year or two to "ensure that the lightbulb change appeals to the most amount of players", even though the amount of light generated by the previous lightbulb was deemed "fine" by the playerbase in general.
Sorry, could resist an I13 PVP pop in the end

The game is balanced around one player being able to change three lightbulbs at once.

And the lightbulb changing was not made harder by the introduction of inventions.

None, the glare from the monitor is enough to light the whole room, and your keyboard has back-lit keys/reflects the light from the monitor/you don't need to see the keys to touch-type.
five hundred to get stuck behind a stupidly sized message of the day dialog that obscures the entire screen and hides its close button off the screen.
1 to remember the command to close aforementioned dialog, thus enabling the others to assist in removal of the light bulb.
The lightbulb is not faulty in any way - however many players felt the light was a bit bright and so the Devs shall be introducing a new feature known as "lamp shade"
This will have the knock on effect of making it far harder to see - thus adding mystery to the game, thus increasing the time it takes for a player to get bored with the lightbulb. The Lampshade enhancement goes live when you least expect it.

In other words..
None. The lightbulb isn't faulty, it's working as intended.

Up to 24 players can attempt to change the lightbulb, but their only chance to do so was between late September and October 11th 2006.
