valkyrie completion, where is the shield?
[ QUOTE ]
surely there would have been time to design some more weapons?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, if you took your staff off the other projects they had moved on to.
I really should do something about this signature.
[ QUOTE ]
So complaining that it's unfair that the Devs only included one weapon model, which they generously put together in their spare time, isn't ungratful?
Priorities change, you have to accept that life cannot operate to an inflexible timetable just because you believe it is unfair for some projects to be given a lower priority.
[/ QUOTE ]
More likely it was created when there was a space in the development window so not really spare time more down time and I'm not criticizing what they created what I'm saying is it would be nice if they did some similar weapons for the other weapon using sets is that so wrong to suggest?
[ QUOTE ]
Oh the Elemental Shields? They're there to complement the Elemental melee sets. They aren't there to thumb the nose at the lack of a Flaming Mace/Axe/Broadsword.
[/ QUOTE ]
ah but they do so i can be a fire/shield brute and have a lovely flaming shield to go with my fire attacks but if i decide to be a mace/fire brute i cant have a flaming mace to go with my fire armour? where is the complementation in that?
Whoah, we got ourselves a full blown argument here. I wonder if I could sell ringside tickets
Chill out, it was only a suggestion.
Remember, nobody likes to be called a whiner. Don't do it, it just spreads aggression.
Patiently state your view, if people don't agree with it don't try and force it on them. It never works, and you only push them further away.
[ QUOTE ]
Ah but i14 is a carryover from i13, technically it's i13 part2. Who knows what Jay and Co. have been working on for i15 and 16 which they have probably been working on since at least December?
[/ QUOTE ]
i know but they've effectively moved the issue schedule to create a void for architect to fill whatever jay and Co were working on for what was the original 14 and 15 would have moved with those issues to there new position in the schedule as issues 15 and 16.
which should have created a void of time for those not needed work on i14 architect should it not?

Pffft this isn't a argument as forum arguments go this is little more than a lively discusion now if it escilates to full on flame war then you mite get some takers for those ringside tickets

[/ QUOTE ]Where does it say that they have to make complimenting weapons? The shields were a courtesy, not a commitment to a policy.

That's not a suggestion, it's a demand.

It doesn't say an where again its something that would be nice and make a logical sense CoHs greatest strength and stand out feature is the level of customisation it allows players with there Avatar more customisation options are good.

Have it your way, personally i'd take it as a poorly worded suggestion.
Now if he'd said "I demand a shield!" that would be a diferent matter.

It could also be a example of a bad grasp of English and considering the game is played by a fair few non English speakers/typers its entirely possible for one of them to be posting here.

It's from someone who's first language isn't English, has a question mark at the end and doesn't look at all like a demand if you read the text of the OP.
In the circumstances it'd be nice not to weigh in with words like "whining" (which some EU mods have regarded as borderline flamebait) quite so readily.

that is entirely my point those teams that were not involved with i14 would not down tools they would work on other things those other things could have been costume parts (including custom weapons)

[/ QUOTE ]Actually they would be still working on i15 and 16. It's a rare opportunity for them to get ahead of schedule on their work.
What would be the point of them being ahead of schedule if every one else was behind them all that would lead to is them having a bunch of stuff that wouldn't see the light of day for several months possibly a year and when it did its entirely possible that it would be dated by more recent things that they would have had inserted in the schedule.
surely its better for them to keep on the same schedule as the rest of the development team?
Also I15 should be largle compleat as it has been stated in the past that the work a couple of issues in front of live.

Except they work on two issues at once.
So once they finished with issue 14, they move on to work on issue 16. Then when they churn out issue 15, they move on to issue 17.
and so on.
And i'm also pretty sure the programmers aren't that adept at 3d modelling and skinning.
Their artists might be busy creating new things.
Be happy they made an extra sword, and then ported it over to dual blades. Instead of moaning and whining they didn't do it for all weapon sets.
Talk about being ungrateful. I've got a solution to you, don't get the next item pack. Cause god forbid they made a weapon and missed a weapon set...
Getting ahead of schedule does a number of things for a team. It provides a significant boost to morale. The team can dedicate some extra time improving the quality of their work. Planning can be done for possible future projects. And, in the case of Jay's team, they can then work on costume pieces that quietly get added without being booster packed and tinker with little earners like as yet unannounced booster packs.

again with the accusing of being moaning, whining and ungrateful if i was any of those things i would not have expressed the fact that i love the valkyrie pack i would not have purchased the pack as soon as i could for both my accounts i would not be using it on several characters if you want to talk about moaning and whining take a look in a mirror all the OP was asking/suggesting was that they could add a shield to the pack hell he even posted a link to a very nice shield design that would fit the theme of the pack all i did was say that it would be nice if they expanded the weapons to include the power sets that can make use of weapon customisation is that so wrong are we not allowed to suggest new weapons? what about costume parts? power sets? emotes? are suggesting these things moaning and whining well?

that was my entire point while i13 was being developed i14 (not architect) and i15 were also more than likely in development (as these issues are partially made up from the cancelled box expansion) there for when i13 was split into i13 and i14 the original 14 and 15 became 15 and 16. if there continuing as normal they should be on to developing 17 but it doesnt make a great sense for a department to get to far ahead of the rest of the team as things could change and wipe out a lot of there advanced work end result wasted money.

But getting to far ahead can result in problems
looking trough the thread, i see 2 failures here.
1.) i never complained, i just think it's incomplete without a fitting shield.
2.)a response like [ QUOTE ]
Well, next time, they are sure not to include any custom weapon options, since if the broadsword hadn't been in there wouldn't have been any of this whining.
[/ QUOTE ] is useless anyway since i would've suggested the shield anyway despite the sword added. (the sword is IMO a complete failure anyway, but i let it slip)
i ask: could there be a valkyrie shield added, it completes the set IMO
i get: assumptions and discussions about everything but what i ask.
anyone heard about on-topic?
