And you think that the CoH player base is the largest source of potential CO players?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, if that where true they would be stuffed.
But Cryptic seem to think it is, otherwise, why bother?
[ QUOTE ]
If that's all it takes you to not play a game, you can't have been that fussed about playing it in the first place.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, I'm not, most of the things I am hearing make me think that CO is going to suck, including this, which seems like an act of desperation.
If Tescos had to resort to handing out leaflets in Sainsburys, I would ask "what's wrong at Tescos?".
I really should do something about this signature.

And this is why your application is still pending most likely. They aint looking to let in closed beta people that will use it to decide if they play it or not. They looking feedback and ways to improve things balance em out etc etc.Common practise of any serious developer afaik regarding closed beta part of development.
[/ QUOTE ]And yet they're so desperate for testers they need to recruit directly from another game forum. Go figure. Not like I had a comment section to say "I only want to try it". The beta application page asks for system specs, number of hours a week playing MMOs and operating system (from what I remember anyway).
Common practice for a beta is to break the game. If they didn't want people to try it then we'd not hear anything till it was released.

Or break it even more?

It's not really even like someone from Sainsbury's standing in Tesco's handing out leaflets, that would be like someone from Cryptic standing in game under the Atlas statue spamming that they had CO beta codes to give away.
This is more like someone at Sainsbury's using Tesco's clubcard mailing list to send letters to customer's homes telling them that they could be shopping at a much newer and prettier Sainsbury's store.
Cryptic might well have considered that they had a right to use the CoX official forum to do a bit of soliciting but it's still an abuse of trust/privacy.

[/ QUOTE ]Yep. During the closed beta we all got to try animated hair but if there was more than one of us with it the game crashed.
Still it was gorgeous looking. Long, flowing; they did a very good job getting it just right

If you were closer, you'd be punished for that

Well it's not that you fill in a form where a question needs to be answered whether you use the closed beta to see whether you want to buy the game or not.
In other words, they wouldn't know why anyone would apply for closed beta(unless Tyger uses the same name here as over there and they would be stumbling across this post).
So, that probably ain't the reason why he hasn't been approved.
