You guys don't get it do you.

The EU version of the GvE pack made a BIG STINKING LOSS.

They are hardly likely to try that again now the game is 2 years older.

And you can advertise as much as you like, people won't buy a 5 year old game.

You have to face it, CoX is never going to be any bigger than it is now. All things like the MA can do is make the decline as gradual as possible, whilst NCNC work to get CoH2 finished.

I really should do something about this signature.

rather than having nice shiny boxes in nice shiny stands in major game shops for the casual walk past buyer to go "oooooo that looks fun" the way I did.

You are still failing to grasp that they could print as many nice shiny boxes as they want but there is nothing they can do to make retailers put them on the shelves.

Threats might work

Golden Girl?

That's a pretty villainous solution coming from you, are you feeling ok?

Yup - feeling fine
The way I see it, is that it's villainous not to stock a game like CoH, making all stores that don't technically criminal places - so threats against them would be totally legal - as would investigating them if the threats weren't enough

And its not as if a download is that easy an option. It takes many hours to download a file as big as CoX even if you are really panting for it. I downloaded LOTR and WOW at seperate times and it took about 2 days for each. Considering they were on my hard drive for less than a day for WOW and an hour for LOTR I wouldn't be happy taking that long to download anything again.

Well, those games are HUGE, unlike CoX. I mean, CoX makes a tiny impression on your hard drive. It's hard to even see it's nudged your storage space at all. Mo pre-rendered movies, no voice-overs, nothing fancy anywhere in the game. You could almost download it with my old USB Robotic modem!

I still agree with a box'ed EU version. Most people still buy their games in stores. Steam might work, but I think it'd cost more. Good way of updating the game tho'!

And for the "five year old game, noone's gonna buy it". It seems games like EVE still attract new players because they really update the game (gfx engine etc) and most of all, wherever you go, you see ad's for it. Heck even Travian ads are everywhere, but when did you last see a non-moorpg.com ad for CoX? You have to spend money to make money.

And yet, by now I've pretty much given up to argue for the game. It looks extremely dated even if the GUI/system (with lk, team etc) is the best I've seen in a MMO so far (amazing how bad most games are, isn't it?). NC publishes a few good games every now and then, but never seem to have a viable long-term plan - ever. They're simple useless bussinessmen! I'm still sort of chocked how badly they handled both auto-assault and Tabula Rasa.

Still love this game though even if I'm not sure why, and really hope for some smashing good high level content for the 5 year anniversary. Heck, Anarchy's still going, erhm.. strong, so We should have many fun years of grinding ITF ahead of us!
