Operation Hammond

12PM

Screens flickered across Paragon as news reports, chat shows and even mid-day showings of porno films were interrupted. The screens glowed red as the symbol of Arachnos formed just for a second.

But it was not the oddly named Lord Recluse, the sultry in a necrophiliac way Ghost Widow or even Arbiter Sands with his pimping shades. No the figure that appeared would only be known to those who studied the heroes and villains of the second world war, the one the only Baron Eternity

“Good afternoon Paragon City, something rather troublesome is about to occur.”

“Despite my wishes to further enhance the plan Operation Hammond has begun.”

“Now the generous and benevolent, financier of this project has seen fit to give you this warning to so that you can evacuate the civilians from let me see...”

The armoured figure reached off screen and picked up a clip board, the flickering of the glow coming from his eyes suggested he wasn't happy with what he read.

“You have half an hour to evacuate civilians from Steel Canyon, any one left will be assumed to be a combatant.”

That said the screens resumed their normal broadcasting.

Almost immediately after a strange vibrating hum could be heard in Steel Canyon to those with enhanced hearing, strange fluctuating energy spikes could be picked up by the technological and scientificly gifted and well something strange in the local magic was making wizards wands stand on end.

All over the area swirly blue portals appeared and vanished, unstable but gaining stability as the convened near the hospital.

In the High Energy Lab of the University complex in Steel Canyon , no one was watching TV , so when the new yocto-Joule field detector started jumping off scale , due to the “strange energy spikes “, the reaction was of scientific wonder ,and most of the HE team started to recorded and verify the machines output ..only Dr Pru Machugh seemed more immediately interested in the source ..but then she did have other senses the rest of the team lacked ..

Claiming to be going to rush to the main computer room to grab some extra runtime , she slipped out of the HE lab and made for the roof ...

By the time she reached the roof she was wearing the tri -coloured costume of her hero self Strangelet.....but she had remembered to clone a energy self ,which was now getting the mainframe time for the team ..multi tasking ..the easy way ........

From the roof Strangelet scanned the surrounding city .....

The pulsing pilgrim portals began to merge, until three swirling vortexes formed in Steel Canyon surrounding the hospital.

For a moment nothing happened.

Then something occurred that would cause any boy under ten and any twenty-something man to dance with excitement.

There was a massive roar, cars vibrated near the portals alarms went off, more roars happened a veritable orchestra of bestial sounds.

Then from the portals emerged a swarm... no swarm would not be the right word, a herd of dinosaurs.... armoured dinosaurs..... armoured dinosaurs that were being ridden by cavemen, armoured dinosaurs ridden by cavemen manning the mounted weapon platforms on the prehistoric beasts.

Triceratops started racing down the streets smashing cars to the delighted whoops of the ape men on their backs.

Pterodactyls swooped through the air, cavemen riders throwing pipe bombs taken from rabbit skin bags.

On the backs of movie sized Velocaraptors cave men rode patrolling with explosive tipped spears.

Guarding the portal a mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex with two massive rocket launchers attached to it's side roared it's fury.

Operation Hammond Was Under Way.

Strangelet activated her comms unit send messages to both the PPD and UV base at once ....

“ heads up some one is dropping dinosaurs in Steel Canyon ..we need all cold and ice powered heroes ASAP , these cold blooded critters will suffer greatly from such powers ...Second we need someone good at shutting portals FAST .....HANG on cave men and Dino's no way ..these must be fakes ..will try to isolate on and check ..”

looking for a lone target Strangelet used her TP powers to stay high and clear , while at the same time putting up all her defences (( shadow fall ie stealth ))

On a nearby rooftop a female figure shrouded in shadowy dark energy came into view, she had saw the TV broadcast and was now watching the events unfold. She walked into the light revealing the infamous villain Countess Leeches. At the moment though she wa sin Paragon due to diplomatic arrangements between the isles and the USA goverment. She was of course intending to abuse her 'diplomatic immunity' plus a chance to disrupt one of the barons plans ammused her. Se clicked her fingers and six eight foot tall robots teleported to the roof next to her and lifted their arms that ended in powerful lasers, she smirked and the cybernetic enhacements in her eyes made them glow red as she said in a strange echoey voice, "Ah my toys, those big stupid looking dinosaurs, with the horns, blow the floor open in front of them lets see them fall into the sewers, it will be an ammusing specticle".
With that the robots oepend fire onto the road and Leeches activated her personal force field.

On another roof top the hero Justice For All had just arrived and was assessing the insane situation, he had to do a double take as he looked at the street below, what madness was this? He was going to have to take out the flyers first, the ground pounders were limited in movement the flyers were fast and deadly. He took to the skys flying in the air and he approached two of the flying attackers.

The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.

Fiona (Mysticism) Myers was in the midnight club in Steel Canyon when it happened. Still not used to having somebody else in her head, she jumped when she heard the voice of Gaia, suddenly and uncharacteristically animated.

'Outside. Now. You're going to want to see this. Take your suit.'

Fiona quickly ran to her room and changed into her old hero suit. She hadn't used it in a while. Still, better to get back into the swing of things with some action than not at all. Opening the door of the club, her eyes widened.

It's alright. Try not to faint. They're just dinosaurs. The added technology is a problem I'll admit, but that's why we're here. Pull yourself together girl. Also, you may want to duck. Gaia had returned to her bored drawl.

Fiona ducked, feeling the hot trail of a rocket fly over her head as a Tyrannosaurus Rex with a back full of cavemen and rockets thundered past.

"Just dinosaurs!? What the hell is going on? Who did it? Portal corp? The menders? This is one hell of a way to fix time!"

I don't know more than you do. However, on the bright side, maybe now less people will disregard the theory of evolution. I'll admit, the thought of the looks on the faces of the evangelicals would make me laugh if I was able to.

Ignoring Gaia, Fiona took up her role as the hero Mysticism and flew into the air, ready to fight. Where ever these dinosaurs had come from, they'd picked the wrong city to move to.

With a bellowing sound like, well like the unseen and unheard before spectacle of a bunch of heavily armed Tricertops falling into a recently excavated sewer system. One the dinosaurs falls badly, slowly it drowns in the filthy water as the rest of the beasts charge into the depths of the sewer system, as it passes away a device on it triggers and a large hologram of the armoured Baron Eternity fills the sky over Steel Canyon, he's sipping what appears to be a Martini as he hands it to some one of camera he starts to speak.

“Come now heroes off Paragon City, surely you've seen it in the movies?”

“The Butterfly effect? Who knows what damage killing these beasts may cause to the time line?”

“Here in the temple of time I'm safe from the temporal storm you heroes are causing with your actions, I get to watch as you vanish, writing yourself out of history!” he lies.

With a flicker the warning hologram fades..

------------

“Ooookaoook malooka mao!” goes one the cave men riders as he spots Justice For All in the sky, pulling on the reigns the caveman steers his Pterodactyl straight at the flying hero, his companion steers his own to be hidden by the first one, this second caveman readies a net as they fly towards JFA .

-----------

One thing you don't get in dinosaur movies is the smell of the beasts, when the T-Rex raws it releases a stench of rotting meat, like a charnel house. As the terrible lizard takes out it's fury on the surrounding buildings, more dinosaurs and cave men pour from the 'time' vortex.

“Koooola mooola eeeek eeeek” one the Cavemen screamed as it spotted the flying Mysticism, spears were thrown to fall short and detonate and fall short as the cavemen jumped up and down in primal fury!

----------

Without Radar or infra-red headsets the cavemen and dinosaurs could not spot the hidden hero,Strangelet

Strangelet , wrapping her defensive clock tightly about herself , teleported her self down towards the portal, keeping to as much cover as possible .

From her new hiding place Strangelet studied the T.rex and the patrolling “cave” men ..looking at them and the weapons …. looking for clues and to see if she could tell if they where flesh or mechanical .

Pulling back deeper into cover she again made use of her comms unit ..this time to spread the word of the portals location , and the nature of the creatures being unleashed ….then , carefully she returned to her observation spot ..

Just out of range of the spears as they flew towards her, Mysticism kept an eye on the hologram.

"Is that true?"

Probably not... came the disinterested reply of Gaia

"Probably!?" It seemed her symbiotic partner wasn't quite as all knowing as she had believed. "So by killing these cavemen and dinosaurs we may write ourselves out of existence?"

No. You'll be fine. You're anchored to me as I am to you. While we're together, time will find a way to compensate.

"But what about everybody else? There are billions of people out there! What if we accidentally kill them?"

There was a pause. I don't see the problem. If they suddenly never existed then you'll never know they were gone. Because they didn't exist. Now.

Mysticism shook her head. She didn't understand. Still, doing nothing would end up killing people anyway, so she flew down towards the sewers. As an afterthought, she summoned a storm in the sky, trying not to smile as she heard the 'ooks' and 'blooks' of the cavemen as their pterodactyls were hit by lightning.

Posted

The cavemen indeed appeared to be just flesh and blood, as did the dinosaurs though in their case they seemed to a whole lot of flesh and blood. The sheer size of the temporal disturbance prevents any clear reading as to from when and where the rampaging 'prehistoric' visitors had come from.

----------

The corners of his mouth twitched, twisting the living metal that made up his armoured skin into a steely grin.

“This is incredibly fun” the Baron chortled as in response to Mysticism's thunder storm he pressed a key on his control pad.

---------

Small almost unnoticeable devices teleported into place around Steel Canyon, as the lightning filled the sky they powered up, as the Pterodactyls and their riders fell, the devices fired overwriting every sign and advertisement in Steel Canyon with new characters.

To the watching villain and battling heroes it would appear that dropping the dinosaurs and riders from the sky had....... turned Paragon City Chinese, even old glory, the stars and stripes now appeared to be the red and yellow of the peoples republic.

Standing, or more accurately floating, at the tunnelled entrance to Atlas Park was Enlightened Flacon. The young Kheldian looking out at the state of steel canyon that could only be described as coming from some pulp comic he’d read a long time ago.

As he attempted to work out just what he should be doing in the storm wracked and apparently now Chinese (Really what was that about? He thought) Steel Canyon a trio of Raptors being ridden by cavemen jumped him.

He tumbled to the floor as the lead Raptor planted a heavy hoot on his chest, the large claw pulling back for a disembowelling strike. Seconds before Falcon lost weight in an amount of time that would make infomercials jealous the trio of Raptors were pushed back by a burst of bright white light. The Cavemen riders shielding their eyes and so were unable to see the large armoured and rather alien looking hand grab the lead Raptors head, spinning it with enough force to send the driver flying, the Raptor itself smacking into the second raptor and rider, they wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon.

The third rider didn’t like the looks of this and sped off, the bulky glowing Dwarf form Peacebringer giving chase through the chaos

Watching people turning Chinese was rather an alarming experience for Mysticism. Trust her luck, first time back in action and dinosaurs roamed the streets and peoples race changed. A somewhat disturbing thought entered her head.

"What the hell? Am I turning Chinese too?" She stopped by a big puddle to see her reflection, using a particularly strong gale to blow away a raptor that ran at her. She breathed a sigh of relief.

Pity you're not. Black-asian cross would be quite rare. I'd pay to see that. came Gaia's vaguely amused tone in her head.

Mysticism frowned and ignored her. She flew on towards the hole in the sewers. It was bad enough having dinosaurs above ground, underneath they could topple a building or something.
She looked round at the sky scrapers around her. Yeah. Unstable foundations would -not- be good.

Leeches was not too impressed with the Barons warning and chuckled to herself, "My, my, so quick to panic".
She nodded to her robots, "Keep firing at the sewers, it will be a scientific curiosity to see if we can ignite the sewer gas with laser fire, let any heroes pass though, and hold fire if any go in there, now is not the time to break negotiations".
The sadows around her moved and pulsed like tenticles, she hated the idea of not firing on everyone in sight. She pondered the chinese thing, "Humm, I wonder place replacement? Interesting, time manipulations".
She said to one of her silver skull shaped shoulderpads, "Computer scan surrounding are for signs of matter displacement".
The Skull reponded in a metallic voice, "Yes mistress".
Then Leeches watched as her robots started firing on some of the raptors too.

Justice for all saw the net heading for him, he had two choices, let it grab him or avoid it, he decided on letting it take him, He sped up at remarkable flying speed and formed an ice shild around himself. He fled into the net acting almost like a dead weight with the intention of knocking both the riders off their mounts, He hoped this worked, sometime taking them by surprise like this worked wonders, other times it didn't, time would tell. As he hit both the riders fell from their mounts and scrambled a hold of the net, Justice used all his strength and flung the net onto the roof of a nearby building where the Cavemen landed in a huggled mess of rope and bodies, they were not dead though, just unconsious, he flew on having a look around and saw the hole in the sewers but decided above ground would need help too so had a look for more trouble spots.

With a grin the Baron tapped some more commands into the console, a low giggle alerted him to a presence, waving the girl in he gestured at the view screen.

“Watch them scurry”

-------------------------------------

Down in the sewers the path of the rampaging Triceratops is clear, machinery and pipes lie torn and spraying what the heroes can only hope is water in fine mists. The place smells as, much as one would imagine a sewer would smell.

As Mysticism enters the sewer a figure scuttles from the shadows, a figure that resembles.... well a lobster man would be the best answer, humanoid, standing erect but with a lobsters head and two claws, it's wearing a rather dirty business suit, a monocle and a top hat.

“Thank the lord you're here! We've got to move quick before the soldiers find us, quick the rest of the resistance is waiting for you leader!” it waves with one claw in the direction of the destruction “Quickly!”

-------------------------------------

As the raptor fled from Enlightened Falcon ahead of them things were changed, their was no fancy effects to announce the teleportation of the new creatures. Just one moment the streets were empty, the next they were full of uniformed jackbooted lobster-men soldiers, as if they had always been there.

Seeing Enlightened Falcon they screamed something in Chinese at him before raising assault rifles and shooting at him, they ignore the fleeing raptor seemingly more focused on dropping the pursuing Peace Bringer.

---------------------------------------

It seems the Baron has done his homework as Leeches has her computers scan the surrounding area, with the 'temporal' portals still swirling away the evidence of teleportaion is simply blotted out by the effects of the portals, in effect they are trying to taste a cup of tea that's been thrown in a swimming pool.

---------------------------------------

More and more lobster-soldiers appear around Steel Canyon, with another flicker again the massive hologram of Baron Eternity appears in the sky.

“Oh dear it appears your actions have lead to it being Lobsters that evolved instead of the cavemen............. how shellfish of you!”

At the pun a little brown fist punches him soundly in the side, with another chuckle the hologram vanishes. The T-Rex roars a little before abandoning the time portal, charging off into the city in stompy rocket shooting roaring kind of way!

The bullets impacted Falcons, throwing him off balancing and sending him reeling, thankful for this forms tough hide he tried to gauge the situation. The Lobster men weren’t making it easy with more bullets pattering away at him Falcon once again burst with light and could be seen shooting off between two buildings in the general direction of the ‘Time Portal’

“Okay, okay, okay” He thought to himself, “Time can’t have changed, I’d have noticed! I mean I’m not a lobster… but would I notice it is time… argh how do Lobsters even fire guns it just doesn’t seem anatomically or mechanical-“

He really should have watched where he was going, the confused Peacebringer having flown into the side of the now rampaging T-rex. A rocket flew just inches away from his side, scorching his costume, the skin underneath and leaving a large hole in a building. Wincing, and with the resolve to figure out just what the hell was going on later he flew up and over onto the T-Rex’s back, flinging light charged fists, eye-beams and finally a shattering foot stomp… which did nothing to the lizards tough hide. It’s riders however were out for the count.

Not that a rudderless T-Rex is better, it running along on of the long highways, tail slicing into buildings, looking like Godzilla come to life. With some quick scrabbling Falcon managed to reach the enormous lizard’s head, lifting both his hands above his head, light collecting and pooling into a huge destructive mass before swinging his fists with all his might into the middle of the T-Rex’s head…

With the T.rex distracted Strangelet choose a risky move , maxing her defences and her stealth cloak she teleported to the portal , and then attempted to cross it .........

Mysticism paused. Dinosaurs. Cavemen. People turning chinese. Portals screwing with time itself. And now.... lobsters in cosplay? Seriously. Had somebody spiked her drink with something experimental? I mean, it's like this guy in the hologram was purposefully looking to break the 'Strangest operating villain' record.
She couldn't help feeling wary of the lobster man thing guy, but at the same time he wasn't exactly hostile. But then, what the hell was this about her being leader of a resistance? Maybe she should just concentrate on the dinosaurs...

Now -THIS- is more like it! Something a little more exciting happening now eh? You should follow him. You might get worshipped as their god or something. At the least, it'll be interesting to see how many got put down here.

Mysticism was starting to think maybe having an avatar of the planet itself in her head wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
"So all the stuff outside wasn't exciting enough for you? Ugh, aren't you supposed to want to stop all this from happening, rather than just wanting it to be exciting?"

I'm here to protect the planet, and I don't know about you girl, but this doesn't look exactly planet threatening. Anyway, you're talking out loud, and the humanoid lobster can hear you.

Mysticism blushed with embarrassment before wondering why she was embarrassed in front of some strange lobster guy. She decided what to do, though had a suspicion is was all going to end in tears.
She turned to the lobster dude.

"Lead the way, I'll help you in any way I can just... keep those claws to yourself."

She wasn't sure she was any resistance leader, but she was damn sure that being a hero wasn't limited to saving humans.

The beast looked perplexed as Enlightened Falcon hit it with a sparkly two fisted blow, it shook it's head and attempted to gash the peace bringer with it's teeth.... but it lost it's balance, ploughing it's head through the side of an office block, with a wheeze it fainted, out for the count.

The lobster men carried on firing, what looked to be AK-47's at the peace bringer, there was the sound of engines starting up and then three tanks came round the corner, their cannons began to spin as they prepared to fire, sights trained on the peace bringer.

-----------------------

With a whoosh Strangelet is transported across time and space by the portal, she finds her self in a large airy room, it's freezing literally about -20 degrees Celsius. The large room is brightly lit, large machines move around placing massive containers on what appears to be a massive transporter, before heading deeper into the complex.

----------------------

The lobster man gave Mysticism an odd look, having the head of a lobster it was an odd look indeed!

“Come along leader it's not safe here!” with another waved claw he started running deeper into the sewers

Ahead there was a quick flicker as the 'stage' was prepared.

As Mysticism enters a large section of the sewers a cheer resounds.

“Captain! We thought you'd be killed for sure” a smaller lobster person asked, he sounded and had the right height to be a kid no older than ten perhaps.

“Like those scum suckers could do in the boss, eh?” an older voice said, a lobster man joined the others one of his eye's was white, a large pitted scar running across his shell like head “It's good to see you again, we're ready when you are it's quite the device you built”

“Soon the war will be over thanks to you Captain!” the boyish one cheered

Other joined in and cheered, the air was almost vibrating with acceptance and a tense anticipation of victory!

Justice For All decided to see what he could do against these 'lobster men' things had certainly took a turn for the strange today. He landed in the middle of a group of about ten lobster men and he activated his ice shield and his fists grew red with power, they said something in Chinese to him that probably was better left untranslated before they started to open fire at him. The bullets impacted off his ice armour and he right hooked one of the attackers in the head sending him spinning to the floor, he punched another across the face too sending him sprawling backwards. These things had some tough armour though he kicked a third in the chest and braughed a fist down into its back sending it smashing into the floor, he spun around as one closed in behind him and started to circle him snap[ing its claws. Justice simply ran at this one one steamrolling him into the floor and he jumped and took flight again with the Lobster men firing after him. He landed in an ally way not far from the sewer hole and saw three more lobster men approach him and got ready for another fight, he was certainly not going to get them all this way.

Leeches hissed in annoyance as her scanners buzzed and came up with a no signal message, then all hell broke loose as some of the lobster men and some of the raptors opened fire at the roof. One of her robots lurched backwards and smashed into the floor, it's chest was a smoking ruin. she sighed, she would have to improve the armour on those, she told two to follow her, the rest would keep firing at the lobsters down below as they fired they hit several lobster men sending them sprawling backwards. Leeches smiled, their armour was not so good either. She took to the sky leaving a trail of shadow stuff around her self and her two robot bodyguards followed her using jets built into their feet. She could see a hero pounding the T rex in the ehad with light and smirked, and casusally got a laser rifle off her back and fired into a raptor downing the beast, her weapon was not set on kill, after all even now she had appearances to keep up for diplomatic reasons, it it woke up and ate somone well that was not her problem. Then she spun in the air and her and her two body guard robots opened fire at the approaching lobstermen tanks and leeches said, "The bigger the risk the bigger the glory".

The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.

Mysicism couldn't help but stare dumbfounded at the bunch of lobster dudes. The one in the top hat was their captain apparently, and somehow they could all speak English.

Not only that, but they speak of some sort of machine that would win their fight. Mysticism wondered what on earth it could be. She would go along with this for now, but if this machine was dangerous to anything other than those dinosaurs the Baron sent out... well... she wasn't going to let them go on a rampage that was for sure.

Mysticism followed the lobster captain dude further into the cavern.

Strangelet wrapped her clock around her face , to try keep the freezing air from chilling her lungs , the bite of the cold stung her , but she refocused her defences to block as much harm as possible , time would be a major factor ...

Firstly she TPed to the transporter , checking for a crew and to see what the containers might hold ...

From there she moved rapidly forward seeking clues to the nature of the complex and the power and control of the portal ...but keeping a clear picture of the route back in her mind ..

Falcon had enough time to look surprised, and impressed it must be said, at the trio of tanks before the cannons spun up to speed and spat streams of hot lead death towards him. His shields didn’t go up in time and he took hits, reeling from the pain as he tumbled off the T-Rex, which was itself being peppered with bullets.

He floated, dazed at the gashes to the side of his chest where a pair off bullets had sliced through, there was probably a broken rip or two, along with another gash on his right leg. As he hovered there, hearing the tanks trundle closer, green tendrils of energy began to flow over the wounds knitting skins and bone and flesh all steadily back together.

Very soon the tanks would be in firing positions, and he’d get shredded, he had to think of something fast. A bubble of light began to form around Flacon as he prepared a shield, it wouldn’t hold for long against a steady steam of bullets and there was no way he’d be able to take on more then one of those tanks, still when all life gives you is a T-Rex….

The tanks trundled close by, attempting to move around behind the giant lizard with its head embedded into an office block. It seemed to move again, the Tanks stopped, spinning up their cannons to slay the beast once and for all. The sound of a man straining could almost be heard, and then the giant lizards head was pushed free, and the multi-ton beast fell onto the tanks, unfortunately for all nearby, there were some live rockets still in the launchers.

A tremendous explosion swiftly followed….

Leeches got cought in the explosion, her shield held most of the blast back however but her two bodyguard robots were blew to pieces by it. Leeches snarled in anger, she would bet that the peace bringer had intended to kill her ignoring the obvious fact that he had nearly been killed by the tanks. She chuckled toherself, the nature of the battle had changed still she would check for survivors in the explosion just to give a show of cooperation. Then she would probably make her way down the sewers, she made sure the rest of her robots were still firing from the roof and circled the explosions crater, "My my what a pretty little mess".
She said in her echoey voice though she seemed to be letting her usual 'high and mighty' demenour slip a bit.

Justice For All had heard the explosion after he finished off the last of his three attackers with a swift stunning punch to the head and he moved to investigate, he could see smoke and twisted wrekage. He would do what he could to save any of the lobster people that were still alive in the area. He saw Leeches up above but ignored her, now was not the time to ressume old battles. He moved on through the wrekage dragging a unconsious lobster man from one of the tanks and dragging him to safety.

The explosion had barely cleared before the changes began, the signs around the city flickered and changed, the Chinese faded and was replaced with Egyptian like hieroglyphics, for a moment nothing else changed and then in a vast wave the dying, the wounded and the perfectly healthy lobster men vanished... above ground that is.

Nothing seemed to happen for a few moments, seconds dragged on in silence only the screeching of car alarms showing anything had happened and then..... a wailing sound.... almost musical. Slowly it might dawn on the people above ground.... that this was the sound of bagpipes.

Down the street marched.... mushroom men clad in kilts, marching in time to the cry of bagpipes, the pipes stopped as the fungus men saw Justice for all and the others.

“Get 'em BOYOS!” the mushroom bag piper screamed

The army of mushroom men surged forward unhooking handles from their sporrans as they charged, with a click each of the mushroom men were armed with Talsorian Claymores, the bag pipe player started a rousing battle hymn as the mushroom forces charged.

-------------------------------------

Below ground the lobstermen remained, it seems the Baron was having a little too much fun with the way things were playing out, a vast sum of miles away a finger pressed a button triggering the next part of the plan. Nanites surged over every reflective surface, with one singular purpose.

“Captain!” the monocled lobsterman saluted Mysticism “We are ready as soon as your are, the bomb will drive back the communist forces! Lamerica will be free!”

The lobstermen cheered.

“Nothing could take down the beautiful Captain, not any of those commie scum suckers that's for sure!” the boy said enthusiastically, almost dancing in glee.

The nanites spread and their singular purpose was established, should Mysticism see her self reflected it would not be her reflection she saw, merely a digitaly edited version of her self, costumed and perfectly normal except for the noticeable lobster head and claws part, the Baron had stolen that idea from Quantum Leap....

“Just give the word and we'll show those godless bastards what's for!” the grizzled veteran said, as other lobster men went to fetch the bomb.

------------------------------------

In the containers Strangelet would see a bunch of spongy looking balls, as they were placed on the transporter they were sprayed with water and blasted with heat, blinking and looking around mushroom men would swell up from the balls, picking up armaments from inside the container, before with a quick flicker being teleported away.

A vast power cable ran half sunk into the ice, given the pooling water around it, it seemed to be giving out more than a little heat, it ran away from the automated teleportation room in a different direction to where the robots were travelling back and forth from.

Strangelet rapidly realized she was way out of her depth here , and failing to spot a nice easy control panel to attack , she retreated back to the portal to return to Paragon
