Operation Hammond ((Quick for fun open roleplay))
Mysticism didn't like the sound of 'bombs'. Nor did she like the sound of 'drive back the communists'. Worse still, they were used in the same sentence.
"Whoa whoa, just a second. What bomb, and what Co--" she stopped, realising that in the face of Lobster men with bombs it probably wouldn't be a good sign if their 'leader' started asking who the enemy was. Heck, the last thing she wanted to do was to be seen as one of their enemies.
"Uh, I mean, what are you going to do with it? Aside from blow something up I mean... what's the purpose of it?"
On the subject of purpose... how did Lobster communism work? Do they have currency? What would they need it for? Maybe they bartered in small fish? I mean, what more would they need but food? Either way, it sort of throws the old saying 'plenty more fish in the sea' out the window if they need communism.
She tried her best to look unconfused or worried, presuming the lobsters knew what human facial expressions meant. If they considered her 'beautiful' (and under normal circumstances she'd have taken it as a compliment) then who knows what they could tell from a human.
In her head Gaia started chuckling at something, but replying would mean talking to herself. Not a good idea in front of military lobster dudes. She'd have to ask later.
From the debris of the T-rex explosion Falcon walked out slowly, just as they do on TV, before promptly collapsing, revealing to the world a blackened and burned back. He groaned to himself as he started to push up, green tendrils of energy once again caressing the blackened flesh.
All around wet thunks could be heart as meaty chunks of T-rex began to fall back to earth, one landing almost on top of Falcon, spurring him to movement. He rolled to his feet, wincing and was quite surprised to find himself being rushed at by a hoard of Beam-sword wielding mushroom men. Sighing, and with a bit of a wince his eyes glowed white once more, energy coalescing in his hands as his shields once more encircled him. Falcon began to carefully take flight once more unleashing a trio of highly explosive Photon Seekers at the onrushing hoard as he attempted to heal up before getting into any more fights
With a sound like a cosmic pfttooie Strangelet is returned to Paragon City, straight back into Steel Canyon a place now covered in hieroglyphics and sword wielding mushroom men, a few raptors still stalked from the distance the wail of bag pipes rose over the car alarms.
----------------------
The mushroom men weren't particularly strong but they can take a beating, spongy flesh lessening the impact of blows, when injured they'd crawl away to a source of water and douse themselves, regrowing their form at tremendous rate.
As the mushroom men continue their relentless wave of attacks against Justice For All and Enlightened Falcon, the wail of the bagpipes rose and fell.

Oh ho it's that vampiric bi... the Baron glanced to his side .. fool, that vampiric fool Leeches! Lets see how much fun we can have with her!
---------------------
Within the sewers a new wave of nanites swam in the waters and other liquids, crawling up the body of Leeches and Mysticism they had a singular purpose to project a one way hologram, each would see the other as one of the lobster people and yet looking at themselves would seem normal.
--------------------
It'll set all the air in the city on fire Captain, you designed it your self Captain! the boy lobster enthused to Mysticism, You've got brains as well as beauty and courage!
Awww you'll set the boss to blushing Cid the veteran cautioned.
The sound of approaching footsteps announced Leeches arrival in the rebel base, lobster looking hero meet lobster looking 'villain'
Boss look out it's one of the Commissar's elite assassins! drawing a pistol one of the lobster rebels started taking pot shots at Leeches, positioning himself between her and Mysticism
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Mysticism was already far too weirded out by all this. She gave up trying to make sense out of it all. The lobsters were firing at another lobster, which was apparently a bad lobster. As opposed to the 'good' lobsters she was surrounded by. Who had a bomb. And she was leader of.
She didn't attack yet, instead waiting to see what happened with this new lobster. Never-the-less, she began tuning herself in with her powers, ready for a fight if the need arose.
Benedict Plaza, Steel Canyon
The meeting had dragged on for long enough. Most of the employees had the day off except for the board members. William Benedict sat with his head resting in his hand as one of his more monotonous members was droning on and on about profits being hit in the southern states due to the long-standing problem of the Phoenix Project. Seems they'd taken his work to be an act of sacrilege but the unspoken consensus was that it had something to do with the constant lawsuits with Countess Crey about whose company stole what from whom. William raised his head and addressed the group.
"I think we should call it a day there, don't you?"
"But we haven't got to the part about...."
"Doesn't matter because you are boring the hell out of all of us. And tired minds don't make active decisions. We'll pick up tomorrow"
"But sir..."
"To..mor..row!"
William stood up from his chair, walking towards the door many of his colleagues. One of them had opened it and quickly slammed it shut it shut, darting away from it. William opened it wide and there stood a Velociraptor. It glanced at the suddenly cowering group and shrieked directly at William who simply stood there before screaming back just as loudly. The creature stood there, surprised before baring its claws and shrieking again ready to attack him. What it met was a thunderous right hook that stunned it for a moment before a well placed drop kick knocked it over the secretary's desk. While it fumbled around trying to get back on its feet, the cowering group looked somewhere between shocked and amazed.
"That's a veloci... did you just drop-kick a Raptor?"
"Fire exit; go, now!"
The order from their CEO was clear enough. They obeyed and ran away from the stumbling creature. The scene after was utter madness. A grown man facing down a dinosaur with a smile on his face. As the creature regained it poise and hissed at him, his stance, Neo-style, said 'come get me'. It charged and jumped, knocked out of the air by a single, well-placed energy blast from one of his cyborg security drones . The helmet of the middle one retracted into her head revealing the smiling face of Lucky Kitty.
"Need some help boss?"
"Yes, Kitty. That would be just fine. Did everyone get out alright?"
"No-one but you and my kids, boss"
"Good"
The creature lept at William again only this time, as he spun round, it was held in mid-air with a wave of his hand. It looked at him, still shrieking, limbs flailing in the air. He smiled, a flick of his wrist and one sickening crack later, the creature fell dead.
"Clear out the rest, capture and contain them if you can; they might be useful. And make sure to take this one downstairs too for study later"
Lucky nodded, picked up the corpse and hauled it off as the echoes of similar shrieks and blasts could be heard all over the building. The former rider of this raptor had wacthed from behind a desk. He threw his spear with a grunt at William and like the raptor; it stopped just short of him. The spear turned 180 degrees and targetted the caveman. He pointed at William with an angry look on his face.
"You bad man. You very bad!"
"I know"
The spear darted for the helpless caveman but hit the floor, exploding in front of him and sending him hurtling into the nearest wall. William smiled.
"It's much more fun that way"

Leeches shield took some of the impact, so she had been right, some lobsters were still here. She quickly checked the targets before taking cover, it seemed they had a leader, plus some kind of explosive device. she smiled slightly, this would be a two fold victory for her. She would take out the lobster leader and their bomb, get a specimen and be seen as a hero for saving the city. she chuckled to herself, ah this was going to be a good day, though one thing did puzzle her slightly, why were the lobsters so convinced she was an assassin? She would ask her captive for answers after and she opened fire.
Justice for all decided to try something, after seeing how the mushroom men needed water, there was a ruptured water pipe near by and he fired a freezing blast at it freezing that source of water the mushroom men saw what he was doing though and charged him. he punched and kicked several of them out of his way but had to back up. He spun around and punched a wall with all his might then activated his ice shield as the wall collapsed landing on the mushroom men, it had not been a very high wall though so they would only be wounded. He then moved on to freeze any water sources he could find in the area.
The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.
Miles away from Paragon City in his artic stronghold from which the chaos was being launched at the struggling heroes the Baron smiled at the actions of the clever Justice For All.
Nicely done hero.... but lets see how you handle this! his fingers flicked over the control panel.
--------------------------------------------------------
Underground where the hologram transformed Leeches and Mysticism were facing off things were becoming hectic.
One of the lobster men went down under the bots lasers, pistol still firing as they fell into the dirty sewer water, several fled behind Mysticism, returning driving a large vehicle attached to the front of which was a large drill, with a whir the vehicle started to drill into the ceiling away from the hero and villain, pulled behind it was a wagon and in the wagon sat a very large metallic cylinder, on the cylinder some one had helpfully painted a large skull and cross bones.
B...boss you've got to take her down! the youngest of the lobster men appealed to Mysticism before with a squeal lasers sent him crashing to the ground stunned.
-----------------------------------------------------------
In the streets there was silence and then the muted sound of an engine, the floor trembled slightly and then with a roar the drill vehicle broke through the pavement.
For the rebellion! the driver screamed as he drove directly at Benedict Plaza.
----------------------------------------------------------
On the ground below Justice For All a large box teleported in, there was a whirr and a strange noise as the box unfolded, drew in on itself, revolved and changed.
In place of the box stood a large robot, twenty five feet tall, wearing a pair of cowboy boots and blue jeans, on it's head rested a large cowboy hat, a large wire wool beard framed it's chin.
Digitally it targeted the flying hero as he froze the water supply, and then with a sound like thirty motorbikes revving up it ran and roundhouse kicked a park car, sending the vehicle scything through the air towards the hero alarm blaring.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Mysticism ducked as laser fire went over her head, she managed to send a gale down the sewer tunnel, stalling the robots at the least as they try to keep their footing. While using wind while underground wasn't easy, she had something far better up her sleeve.
The robots momentarily distracted, she focused on the rock the mastermind lobster was hiding behind, making it suddenly explode outwards into stalagmites, attempting to hit the lobster with them.
'Now for the hard bit...' she thought, and began concentrating on the walls between her and the lobster. Using as much power as possible without draining herself, she began trying to de-stabilise the rock holding up the tunnel. If she could cave the tunnel in, she could save the other lobsters. Maybe even trap the robot commanding lobster.
Once she had done that, she could work on stopping them detonating that bomb.
'And dammit!' Mysticism thought 'Gaia won't stop giggling! What the hell is that about?'

[/ QUOTE ]Inside, William was suiting up into his armour with a bemused looking Lucky Kitty watching. As each piece was locked together he noticed her face and paused the process.
"Something wrong my dear?"
She looked up at him, his head still exposed...
"You can do things without all this tech so why put the suit on?"
He resumed the process as the jawbone of his helmt locked around his head.
"Appearances, Kitty.."
The rest of his helmet and faceplate were connected and locked in..
"Appearances"
He stepped off the docking station, the heavy suit clomping on the hard floor. Kitty's armour deployed over her body and together they headed upstairs and to the front door.
--------------------------------------------------------
The two sentries assigned to the front door had made sure that no-one got in or out. Their attention was diverted to the sound from outside; they looked to each other and with perfect synchronicity looked at the emerging vehicle as it ruptured from the ground. The image was relayed instantly through the Core AI.
David and Goliath, Kitty's 'children', had made their way up first. They were followed by several drones and they barely stopped as the doors slid aside for them. Goliath faced down the approaching machine, his feet cracking into the ground. As the vehicle got close enough he grabbed hold of it bringing the drill to an instant halt. David swept round and blasted at the vehicle, several other drones followed him, another held the vehicle in a magnetic field and lifted it upright as Goliath twisted in opposition to the drill bit's motion, tearing it off it's spindel. William had stepped out with Lucky to see this orchestra of co-ordinated assault.
"Open it"
David lept up onto the vehicle and shredded his way into the armour, peeling it back as William hovered up to meet its occupant.
"Now; who are you and why are you driving this thing towards my property?"

Leeches smirked, so the lobster had some powers, there was something amusing about a lobster with super powers, she felt the walls and the remains of the roof shake and decided it was time for plan B. She shouted, "Ok lobster, if you want to play nasty, so shall I". With that she set her robots to self distruct and pressed a few buttons on her rifle as the ground and walls shook and a spinning drill lifted out of her rifle and spread out, it looked almost like a metal umbrella and she drilled herself an escape route through the roof and hovered away laughing as her robots exploded in large explosions. The lobsters may have tried to trap her but she had won, though it was not the glorious victory she had hoped for a draw would do. She landed on the floor and walked through the streets shooting the occasional enemy with her rifle as she tracked where the bomb truck had gone.
Justice For All was taken by surpise by this new development and the car hit him square in the chest and he smashed into and through the wall off a small shop, he rolled across the floor knocking shelvs flying and slowly got to his feet breathing painfully. "Ok that hurt, these things might look strange but they hit hard".
He shook his head to clear it and limped out of the shop door, he painfully fired a ice slick under the robots feet then took covered behind a wall while he regained his strength, hell the robot looked like a cowboy maybe some line dancing would do it good.
The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.
Justice for all shook his head in confusion, what the hell? He had to be dreaming this, that or this baron person was an absolute nutcase. He hoped for the former but knew it was the latter. He dove for cover as weapons fire exploded around him and he smashed into a pile of rubbish, oh great he thought as he stood up his ice shield raising again and he charged a group of mushroom men, he would have to do more than this, he needed a plan but he had no idea what you could do to plan against madness like this.
Leeches landed with a clunk of her armoured boots on the floor, glad that she had been spared the bother of looking for survivors, she headed for the sewer hole casual blasting some of the Mushroom men with her pulse rifle. It was still set on stun though but she had a purpose now, she wanted samples and what little her scanners could tell her there were still a few lobster things around. She would capture one and experiment on it, yes that was it! She smirked slightly, the hero down here was probably already dead anyway, these creatures may look strange almost comedic but their weapons were serious enough. She hovered down the sewer hole and her eyes glowed red and she lifted her rifle. She powered up her personal shield and prepared to move into the tunnel proper.
