Photoshopped Screenshots
That does look pretty cool
The only downside with it so far is that while the city scape looks great faded away like that, parts of the character is faded away as well. Mostly his boot, some of his hand and top of head. If it would be possible to cut the character out, place it in it's own layer, then fade out background. then put char in and do a lesser fade on him.
The fading on the character is due to the fact that the screenshot I was working with had him running the Fire armour goggle and Prestige Sprint Quick, and I don't currently have this character at the level for flight and a cape ><
Neat. If I had the time to play, I'd see what I could do to a CoX picture or video with the demo of FXHome Visionlab.

Here's one of Bluedarky I did for fun, hmm, may have to consider doing a quick comic of this.
You can get some quite reasonable results with photoshop if you play around for a few minutes, I've not only used it on a comic I do but also made some wallpapers for members of my SG:

I did photoshop a screen a long time ago...in a different way
I used to do it for some Matrix Online screenshots too, to try and make them look better. In this case, I did it to show Joey Stahl, a character of mine, in the aftermath of his beating by a group of Skulls
In the story it was raining, which obviously doesn't happen in game, so I added that. As well as lighting changes, some smoothing of edges, adding some blood...little things.

If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do. Let's go to work.
For the record, I rather like it, but the obscuration of detail is a little extreme and does detract a little.

Hello llo frie Friend. wo Won't you come in in?
Yeah, just messing around.
In your dreams, I'll still be there with all the days that never came.
And I'll be just a story.
That's ok, we're all stories in the end...
As I am wont to do, I play around with Paint.Net a bit. Great little program that, I prefer it to GIMP for my image editing needs (not that there's many.)
You can get some really great effects on CoH screenshots with some of the options, and after spotting Pious' comic posted that uses similar techniques, I took a crack at things once more, and came up with...
Cauter: Blazing Bright
I kind of like how the background city itself is really faint, but that red and gold of his armour just stand out among it. I used the Ink Sketch filter at 35/75, before Softening the portrait and changing the Brightness and Contrast to 100/-30, then to finish off added a small point to the curves to just bring the red and yellow out.
The 35/70 Ink Sketch gives you a nice colour, and helps define the main lines but not leave too much of a pebbledashed texture, and the left leg's lines are rather prominent. Also, nice to have just that little bit of eye detail.
It could still do with work, of course. For one thing, bringing parts of the image up into layers to better capture certain pars, or put less emphisis on the right leg's lines, and perhaps putting a touch more colour into the background.
Still found it to be quite striking though.
